Synopsis[]
Plankton is telling Karen about his new invention, a "doomsday pie," when Perch announces Kamp Koral stand-up comedy night at the Krusty Kanteen. An enraged Plankton tells Krabs to shut it down, but he refuses. As the night starts, Mrs. Puff announces a badge for the funniest camper. The first comedian is a camper named Shecky. The campers like his jokes, but they offend Lady Upturn. Harvey shoves him off-stage to talk about Martian conspiracies. Next, SpongeBob does bubble impressions: first of Mrs. Puff, then Mr. Krabs. The Krabs bubble floats into Plankton's lair, interrupting him and making him drop the explosive pie on himself. He shouts at the campers, but they knock him away.
Narlene does a ventriloquist act with Nobby, which the campers enjoy. Krabs chases them off the stage, and Harvey runs up again to warn about a kraken, before being pulled off by a hook. Squidward does a mime act, which the campers dislike. Meanwhile, Plankton takes out another pie, but drops it and explodes himself. Patrick does prop comedy, attempting to smash a melon with a hammer, but missing and hitting himself in the head repeatedly. The resulting quakes make Plankton drop a third pie on himself. Afterwards, a montage shows everyone telling jokes and Plankton dropping more pies.
Harvey talks about Martians again, and anchovies take him off the stage. Plankton shows up, holding the biggest pie yet, and a kraken surfaces from the lake. Plankton tries to destroy the kraken with the pie, but it has no effect. Karen tells him that pie was just a normal one because they already used up all of his explosives. The kraken grabs Plankton and shifts its tone, telling a bunch of jokes to the campers. Mrs. Puff awards him the comedy award. Karen brings more explosives, but Plankton runs into them and explodes, saying again that he hates comedy.

Trivia[]
General[]
- This and the sister episode "Squatch Swap" premiered on American television exactly one year after they were added to Paramount+.
- This episode's title is a pun on the word "wisecracking" which means making a witty remark or joke.
- It is revealed that Mr. Krabs hates Narlene and Nobby and forbids them from stepping foot at Kamp Koral, especially because they don't even attend there, making them trespassers.
- Shecky was voiced by the late real life comedian Gilbert Gottfried, fitting for the plot of the episode.
- Kraken is voiced by real-life stand-up comedian Brad Garrett from the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond which ran from 1996 to 2005.
- It revealed that Plankton hates comedy because "it burns him up."
- Lady Upturn pretty much doesn't have a sense of humor either because she was offended by Shecky's jokes and Narlene and Nobby's pseudo-ventriloquist act.
- This marks the first time that the track "Andy Anorak" is used since "Driven to Tears."
- The "two-milk minimum" is a reference to the drink minimum for comedy clubs, where patrons have to pay upfront for drinks before entering.
Episode references[]
- The Komedy Kanteen! is similar to the Komedy Krab from "Squirrel Jokes."
- Lady Upturn stands up during various acts and says "I am offended!" She does the same thing while reacting to FitzPatrick's show in "FitzPatrick."
Cultural references[]
- Patrick impersonates the prop comedian, Gallagher, who is best known for smashing watermelons and other things with a sledgehammer called "The Sledge-O-Matic."
- The Kraken in his true form and nature parodies the late comedian, Rodney Dangerfield.
