Character

Walter[citation needed] the waiter,[1][2][3] also known as the ice cream man[4][5][6] and the Goofy Goober employee,[7] is a character who first appears in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie book and later in the movie of the same name. He works as a bartender at Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat.

Description[]

Enemies à la Mode 031

The ice cream man as a kid.

He is a dark green fish who wears a pink-striped uniform, a white apron with a red bow-tie, brown pants, and black shoes. He also wears a peanut and a boater hat on his head. As a kid, he is shown to also have short black hair and a small sky blue dorsal fin. It is unknown if he still currently has hair for he has not been seen without his peanut helmet as an adult.

Personality[]

He seems to have a workplace attitude very similar to Squidward. He does not seem to enjoy his job and seems tired while working there. He also finds SpongeBob and Patrick annoying because of how inconsiderate and childish they act when eating the sundaes. Despite that, he does appear to enjoy working with children as shown in "Enemies à la Mode" and was shown to be quite friendly and thoughtful as a kid in the episode as well.

Role in series[]

The ice cream man is currently a semi-recurring character in the series. He is an employee at Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat. He has remained absent in the series since his debut in the movie but makes a comeback in "Patnocchio."

Roles[]

SpongeBob SquarePants[]

"Patnocchio"[]

The ice cream man appears when Patnocchio and Plankton walk into Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat. Both Patnocchio and Plankton wreck the place and the waiter at first cheers them on. Later, Patnocchio and Plankton destroy many ice cream dispensers, which all gets on him and looks like a snowman. He looks down at both Patnocchio and Plankton and has burning ice cream in his eyes. He then kicks both Patnocchio and Plankton out of the restaurant.

"The Goofy Newbie"[]

He appears in the employee presentation video that Patrick has to watch on his first day. He later makes a cameo at a desk when Patrick eats ice cream during his break.

"My Friend Patty"[]

He serves SpongeBob and the Krabby Patty a Triple Gooberberry Sunrise to share. However, the patty has already run away, leaving the waiter to think SpongeBob is trying to share it with himself.

"The Goobfather"[]

SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs knock out the Goofy Goober employee while he is taking out the trash, then steal his uniform as a disguise.

The Patrick Star Show[]

"Enemies à la Mode"[]

He appears as the driver for the Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Boat truck where he is seen happily giving ice cream to children until Patrick appears and makes him remember when Patrick's ice cream obsession traumatized him when they were kids. He tries to avoid Patrick throughout the episode until the end when Patrick finally gets a hold of his truck and drives away in it. The ice cream man then goes after Patrick and his stolen truck.

"FitzPatrick"[]

He serves Patrick and FitzPatrick Triple Gooberberry Sunrises.

"The Prehistoric Patrick Star Show"[]

A prehistoric version of him sells dinosaur milk ice cream. Patrick CaveStar tries to hunt him down, but the ice cream man and his cart are eaten by a Bubblebassasaurus.

"Big Baby Patrick"[]

He serves two sundaes, but sees that Patrick is a baby, and babies are not allowed to have ice cream. He gives both sundaes to SpongeBob on the condition he does not let Patrick have any.

"Best Served Cold"[]

He serves as the main antagonist of the episode, gathering Squidward Tentacles, Fentin Finkle, Death, and Gladys together to enact revenge on the Star family.

Roles in movies[]

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie[]

He serves several Triple Gooberberry Sunrises to SpongeBob and Patrick while getting excess ice cream drippings spat at him in the process. He later wakes SpongeBob and Patrick up the next morning and tells them to leave.

Roles in games[]

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (video game)[]

He appears as a Slammer enemy, and uses his broom as a weapon to try and squash the player.

He also appears in the PC version of the game.
