Undersea Antics Volume 1 is a SpongeBob SquarePants VHS tape that was released as one of the Blockbuster Video-exclusive Kidmongous rental tapes. It was released on May 7, 2002. It contains all of the episodes that were on the Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies tapes as well as the Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies DVD.

• This VHS tape includes previews for other Nickelodeon DVDs and VHS tapes. These include Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius DVD and VHS tape, SpongeBob SquarePants: Nautical Nonsense, Sponge Buddies, and Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies on VHS and DVD, Rugrats in Paris: The Movie DVD and VHS tape, and Rugrats: Decade in Diapers Volumes 1 and 2 VHS tapes.
• This is the first SpongeBob SquarePants home media release to feature the Paramount 90th anniversary logo in the opening.
  • In addition, this release took place one day before Paramount's actual 90th anniversary.
• This is the only Blockbuster-exclusive SpongeBob VHS tape.
• Robert Yarborough is responsible for the packaging of this VHS tape, Nickelodeon Super Toons, and Sea Stories.
• Despite the title, a volume 2 was never released. The same thing goes for The 1st Season: Volume 1 on UMD, SpongeBob SquarePants: Volume 1 on NPower Fusion, and Bob Esponja Vol. 1 on digital.

Errors

• In all Nickelodeon USA, Nicktoons USA, Nick@Nite, UK airings of the episode "Something Smells" along with the iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, and Paramount+ digital versions, SpongeBob walks up to a building and says, "Hi, building!" which causes the building to flee from SpongeBob's breath. He goes up to Patrick and says, "I just don't get it!" and Patrick says, "I don't either."
  • On this VHS tape, the Nautical Nonsense VHS tape, all DVD releases, the Nick Scene It? DVD game, the VideoNow disc, the It's a SpongeBob Christmas! Blu-ray, Canadian airings on YTV and Nickelodeon Canada, Polish airings, French airings, Australian airings, and Arab airings, the scene instead goes like this:
  • SpongeBob: [walks up to a building and waves] I just don't get it! [the building flees]
  • Patrick: [off-screen] I don't, either. [SpongeBob walks up to Patrick; the rest of the scene goes as normal, resulting in the same lines being repeated]. According to the audio commentary on The Complete 2nd Season DVD, this was a sound mixing error. The music also repeats itself incorrectly at that point. It is made obvious since SpongeBob's mouth still clearly says the intended line.
