"Twas the Night Before Spongemas" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode, produced as a stand-alone special for season 13. In this episode, on Christmas Eve, SpongeBob and his friends look back on some of the fun and less-than-jolly Christmas moments. And when Christmas morning comes around, they realize that what matters most is the loving warmth of the holiday cheer.

General[]
- This is the only special to premiere in 2022.
- This is the seventh special to be a clip show and the eighth special to air standalone from the series.
- This is the fourth Christmas special, following "Christmas Who?," "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!," and "SpongeBob's Road to Christmas," and the sixth episode to feature a Christmas theme after "Christmas Who?," "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!," "Goons on the Moon," "Plankton's Old Chum," and "SpongeBob's Road to Christmas," despite the third episode and fourth episode not directly being about Christmas.
- Including The Patrick Star Show and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, this is also the franchise's eighth episode to include a Christmas theme.
- This special aired as part of "12 Days of Nickmas," an event where Nick aims to premiere new content everyday leading up to Christmas. This is similar to the previous premiere event, Nickelodeon's Gobble Wobble Thanksgiving! Week - albeit, on a slightly larger scale. Since Nick had no new live-action content to premiere on the 22nd (as such content usually premieres on Thursdays), Spongemas took up the Thursday slot.
- As this clip show has the special production code of 876, it means that three special codes were skipped (879, 878, 877) between this and Arrgh!: Puppet Edition! (show #880[1]).
- Despite the title card appearing more akin to the spin-off title cards, this special is only composed of clips from SpongeBob SquarePants episodes.
Cultural references[]
- The title is a parody to the 1823 poem 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Errors[]
- On one page of the book, SpongeBob's name is written as "Spongebob," when grammatically it should be "SpongeBob."
- This error also occurs with "Snail Mail."
