Character

Troutenheimer, also known as Incidental 1D and the Scotsman, is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Pickles." He is an alternate model of Incidental 1 (Fred) and he is classified as a hotdog-type incidental.

Description[]

He is a faded blue grouper with dark blue fins. He wears brown pants with a black belt that has a yellow-gold colored belt buckle. In his older appearances, his fins were colored light faded blue.

Scotsman[]

The Scotsman.

He is colored a more pale shade of blue with bright purple fins and has a puffy faded blue beard and eyebrows. He wears a salmon jacket with a green plaid sash, a green plaid kilt with a black belt and a red and yellow sporran, a salmon hat with a green plaid bottom, black shoes with knee high socks, and has a tan bagpipe on his back.

Names[]

Troutenhiemer is the only generic name Incidental 1D has been given in the franchise. It was used in the SpongeBob SquarePants Trading Card Game.

Role in series[]

Absent 1A-1D

Incidentals 1B-1D's models shown to be absent from the original main model sheet (Note: there is no label that claims they are "non-existent" due to the fact that they are alternate models of Incidental 1).

Troutenheimer has made a decent amount of appearances throughout the series. While not making too many appearances in the first four seasons, he did start to make many appearances in season 5 and onwards until season 11 where he became seemingly absent, although he did make a few occasional appearances afterwards. He was originally considered as an alternate color palette for Incidental 1 but he was later given his own model number "1D" and was instead considered an alternate model of Incidental 1. He was firstly designed to be a Krusty Krab customer.

He appears at the Reef Cinema, SpongeBob tells him that he hopes his ugliness won't be a distraction to him, and he replies, "Not at all, boy." However, he smells SpongeBob's bad breath and runs away. He is also one of the many theater patrons that Patrick forces to look at SpongeBob's "ugly" face.

He appears as the Scotsman where he receives a plaid colored Pretty Patty that reminds him of home. He later reveals that the plaid patty gave him a plaid colored body under his kilt.

He and Incidental 115 are invited to SpongeBob's house party. At first Troutenheimer doesn't remember who SpongeBob was, but Incidental 115 reminds him that he went to kindergarten with him. Troutenheimer looks at his kindergarten photo with SpongeBob and then remembers him, which caused him to decide for he and Incidental 115 to move again.

He is shown to fall asleep during Squidward's performance and wakes up to realize that everyone is gone but comes back when cramps are mistaken for a dance.

He appears as an actor on the hospital T.V. that SpongeBob was watching, portraying a doctor with Incidental 22 as a nurse.

He checks out Mr. Krabs' movie theater with Incidental 42 where they shortly leave along with everyone else when they find out the movie is really a flip book.

He is seen at a table with Incidental 41 with a plate of pastries. He claims that he won't be eating them anymore when Patrick smells them and rubs his face into them. He later appears at the Krusty Krab where he runs out of the restaurant when Patrick places scented candles at all the tables.

He works as a garbage man with Incidental 119 where they find SpongeBob covered in slime from a spotted glistening meadow worm. He claims that the worms are worth a fortune causing Mr. Krabs to come up with the idea to sell the baby worms to people.

"Gullible Pants"[]

He says that he going to leave the Krusty Krab as soon as he finishes his Krabby Patty after the Krusty Krab gets covered in garbage.

"No Hat for Pat"[]

He and Incidental 45 becomes amazed by watching Patrick flopping down when he puts a Krusty Krab hat on.

He finds Incidental 103 crying in his high chair alone when Incidental 7 leaves him for SpongeBob's song.

After Plankton makes SpongeBob blind, he delivers him a Krabby Patty made out of two sponges, hair, mop thread, and soap.

He appears as an employee for Buxton during "Give Jellyfish Fields a Chance." He also appears as Ben Blenny's camera man during his news report.

He appears as one of the choir boys in the boatmobile.

He appears in the back of the line at the Flabby Patty Shack where Plankton attempts to cut in front of him by pretending to be a food critic, but he just ignores Plankton, causing his plan to fail. Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob then appear right behind him where they try to talk about their plan to break into the Flabby Patty Shack, but he stares at them so Mr. Krabs decides to talk to SpongeBob in private away from him. He then pretends to wait in line behind him before SpongeBob yells that the fish hooks are coming.

"Drive Thru"[]

He appears in the boatmobile with Incidental 22 and Incidental 153 behind Larry the Lobster while Incidental 22 asks what the holdup is.

"Mr. Krabs Takes a Vacation"[]

He attends the tour at the Bikini Bottom Mint that SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs were attending.

He is seen riding the roller coaster that plunges into the ground while SpongeBob and Patrick walk to the Ferris Wheel. He is later seen in the bumper boat ride where Incidental 36 aggressively yells at him to move over even though he was unable to due to there being too many boats in the ride.

He and Incidental 107 sit beside Mrs. Puff at the Demolition Derby where she shoves him aside lightly when she arrives to her spot. She later angrily shoves him off to the ground when she left her spot to get revenge on SpongeBob.
