2024 (MMXXIV) was a leap year starting on Monday of the Gregorian calendar. This year saw the 25th anniversary celebration and the fifteenth season premiere of SpongeBob SquarePants, the second season of Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years on Paramount+, and the third season premiere of The Patrick Star Show, as well as the conclusion of the fourteenth season of the main show, the first season of Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years on Nickelodeon, and the second and third seasons of The Patrick Star Show. A total of 83 episodes premiered across all three shows. 26 episodes for the main series premiered, making it a tie with 2008 and 2019, in terms of numbers of new episodes. 18 episodes of Kamp Koral and 39 episodes of The Patrick Star Show premiered, making it the longest year for both of these shows in terms of premiere numbers. 2007 currently holds that record, since 47 episodes premiered that year.
This was the first year since 2017 in which two seasons of the same show concluded in the same calendar year instead of one.
Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie is the only spin-off movie to release on Netflix during this year due to a delay in production caused by Plankton: The Movie, meaning the spin-off film was withheld until before the movie's release.
