What do you think is the best Season 2 episode? IMO, it's Graveyard Shift with Sailor Mouth as a runner-up.

But it's a Season 3 episode, not Season 2.
Sorry :(

That's okay, nothing wrong with it. I used to be confused as well (I thought Roller Cowards was Season 2 episode). However, I'm not anymore.
I like Band Geeks.
Also, I think Grandma's Kisses isn't that good of an episode. Although there are many funny gags and heart-warming scenes, seeing SpongeBob being teased by everyone in the Krusty Krab was kind of unpleasant, but I think the part where SpongeBob starts crying about how he wants to be a child again was the worst part of the episode. It goes on for forever.
I am actually quite surprised that Your Shoe's Untied has not been mentioned, both in the good or bad category. I think it has all of what makes a good classic SpongeBob episode - a fun song, gag-filled segments that fit into the story well and of course, one of my favourite characters the Flying Dutchman making a surprise reappearance. Surprise comedy is one of the few things SpongeBob continously does right, and I really enjoy Your Shoe's Untied for being a collection of all the good components but not seeming like a mess. I also enjoy Shanghaied which is a perfect out-of-tone episode. It reminds me of when SpongeBob could do those well.
As for bad episodes, Gary Takes a Bath sticks out for me as an episode that could've been done right... and doesn't fail or succeed. Don't get me wrong - it's a hilarious episode and they didn't have that much time to create a great story or anything, but it just feels a waste of what could've been done in a Mundane Made Awesome plot like this.
I'm not a fan of Big Pink Loser either, but this is just because the jokes mostly fall flat and the story is a bit easy - there's very few twists to that formula.
I notice that this has not been contributed to since 17th January, however it's just barely fine and I feel that finding the best and worst of what is considered the "best" by many is an interesting concept.
