Thanks everyone for your suggestions this round. I am going to close this thread and create a new one with updates, and you will also be able to add your suggestions there as well.
    15:07, May 19, 2014

I have closed the previous thread after collecting several ideas. There was some discussion, and here are our responses:

    • Suggestion 1: More background contests
    • Response 1: We will continue to have background contests.
    • Suggestion 2: Slide show alongside galleries.
    • Response 2: Slide shows are a little too much for the complex galleries we already have.
    • Suggestion 5: All info boxes with set image sizes.
    • Response 5: This cannot be done because it would cause infoboxes to be wider for certain pages.
    • Suggestion 6: Minor characters with their own pages.
    • Response 6: A proposal is being drafted.
    • Suggestion 7: Wiki history in navigation
    • Response 7: Wiki history must be completed (or at least mostly) first
    • Suggestion 8: User tutorial.
    • Response 8: There is currently several projects going on, but anyone is welcome to start working on a tutorial.
    • Suggestion 9: Awards (such as user of the month)
    • Response 9: A proposal is being drafted.
    • Suggestion 10: Article of the month
    • Response 10: A proposal is being drafted.
    • Suggestion 11: Redesign the entire wiki.
    • Response 11: We would need specific suggestions for this one. Not just a general suggestion.

Summary: 11 suggestions, 2 new proposals, and 3 proposals being prepared.

Keep the suggestions coming in this thread.

    • We could have people writing episodes reviews and analyses on the main page. My comparison of Sand Castles in the Sand to the Middle Eastern crisis could be one of them.

    • I agree with the minor characters to have there own page because you do wan't more pages and edits right? So minor characters should have there own pages.

The only problem with this is that people might complain that we are turning into SpongeBuddy Mania. Especially, the owners of that site. But, besides that it sounds like a good idea.

Yeah but some other users who thought they deserved it might not like it and other users will hate each other.

Yeah, we shouldn't do that. It would be too unfair. An episode and article of the month, picked at random and voted for by users, would be better.

      - Episode reviews and analysis

Regarding user of the month: anyone who says that it is unfair probably isn't showing they are worthy of the award. If they do complain about not being nominated, or urge others to do so, that makes them unqualified.

    • Yeah that would be better to do it like that, anyone who complains wouldn't get it the next month if they din't get the month before.

Or we could just pick people at random.

I agree. It should not be someone who has had bad behavior or who has done nothing for the whole month.

What if someone did work hard for it, but someone else got it anyway. They'd fit and there would be a huge war on the awarder's message wall.

    • I have another idea. However, I think this is something that Wikia has to do. My idea is that when someone is editing a page and another person wants to edit and when press the "Edit" button, there should be a warning that comes up that says something like "This page is already currently being edited by another user. Please try again later". This will completely eliminate edit conflicts.

      3. Tominator - "What would the ESB pages be used for though?" - same thing the "SpongeBob SquarePants" namespace was used for. Policies, guidelines, projects, discussions, etc.

    • I got one.

In order to be as descriptive as possible, all transcript articles must reach a certain length in bytes before they can be considered "complete". Like, 4-minute episodes (e.g. Pat no Pay) need to be 5,000 bytes or so, 7-minute episodes (Good ol' Whatshisname) need to be 10,000 bytes, and 11-minute episodes (Rock-a-Bye Bivalve) need to be 17,500 bytes.

That doesn't work. Some episodes have more words than actions and vice versa.

      1. We probably don't need to have a discussion to implement {{Reflist}} for all reference sections.

      2. A transcript is complete when it's complete. The size of the article doesn't matter. It could meet the size limit, but still be incomplete.

    • I think that for the complete seasons of 1-5, we should create a new page for the re-releases and for the complete 6-8 seasons, we should rename them. The reason for this is that the re-releases are The Complete First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Seasons, not The Complete 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Seasons. For Seasons 6-8, They are The Complete Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Seasons and not The Complete 6th, 7th, and 8th Seasons.
