Synopsis[]
The episode begins in the Krusty Krab, where SpongeBob is cleaning the floors. He notices a substance that he thinks is goo show up underneath Mr. Krabs when he walks in and he sprays him with water. SpongeBob notices more of that substance outside the Krusty Krab and uses soap to clean it up. One of the soap bubbles mixes with a solution Plankton is making, and it creates an explosion. Plankton thinks the substance on the ground is oil and tries to use it for money. Mr. Krabs and Plankton fight over it, before Karen tells them that the combination of Krabby Patty grease and chum runoff resulted in grease being leaked into the ground for decades. She tells them that the grease's viscosity index and flavoring can be used for a profit, though it's evenly split between the restaurants in which Mr. Krabs and Plankton agree to work as partners.
After several days, Mr. Krabs and Plankton fight over how they can use the grease, before SpongeBob tells them that he uses the grease in many different ways and tells them that they can sell it for everything. Mr. Krabs and Plankton form a business selling Dr. Krabton's Miracle Everything Juice, to sell the grease for any way that they can use it. Several Bikini Bottomites drive towards the stand and crash into each other, to which Mr. Krabs and Plankton start to sell Everything Juice, using it for calming babies, gluing hair back to heads and fixing a boat. Mr. Krabs and Plankton quickly gain a fortune as a result.
Mr. Krabs heads to sell some Everything Juice to Mrs. Puff at Boating School, with SpongeBob's assistance. SpongeBob uses it to fuel her boats and clean her lighthouse, as well as smoothing out his face. Mrs. Puff agrees to purchase ten bottles. Plankton heads to sell some Everything Juice to Sandy at her treedome. Plankton advertises the product by saying it can fertilize lawns, polish the treedome glass, and shine nuts. Sandy claims to not believe in miracles at first, but after Plankton claims that Everything Juice can also keep Sandy's oxygen machine running, she agrees to buy a case.
To further endorse Everything Juice, Mr. Krabs and Plankton perform a song to the Bikini Bottomites, showing them the other uses that Everything Juice has. Mr. Krabs and Plankton manage to successfully sell it to the Bikini Bottomites. In an office building, Mr. Krabs and Plankton discuss their fortune and friendship, and have a money fight, but the Bikini Bottomites angrily barge in, showing the side-effects that resulted, such as affecting Sandy's air and giving Mrs. Puff pinkeye. They demand for refunds and destroy the office building, as Mr. Krabs and Plankton argue over who is at fault.
Outside the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob tries to obtain more grease from a machine, but it is all out. Mr. Krabs and Plankton meanwhile still argue over who is at fault for the side-effects. They address to each other that their friendship is over as they both head back to their restaurants. Right as they do, both the Krusty Krab and the Chum Bucket sink underground, as a result of them using all of their grease from their respective restaurants. Mr. Krabs and Plankton continue to argue, although SpongeBob exclaims that he is glad that the three of them are together, as the episode ends.

Trivia[]
General[]
- This episode was originally called "There Will be Grease!" as seen in the script, with a lowercase b. The title was then changed to "There Will Be Grease!," with the only two differences being that the lowercase b was changed to a capital B and the exclamation mark was removed from the finalized title.
- This episode was paired up with "Kwarantined Krab" during the original airing, but has since been re-airing with "Potato Puff."[15][16]
- This episode was originally going to air on Nickelodeon UK and Ireland on April 28, 2022, but it was pulled and replaced with a rerun of "Ghost Host."
- Plankton's tank robot from The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water makes a cameo appearance when Plankton imagines selling the grease to the military.
- This episode uses Slappy's design from The Patrick Star Show.
- A sentient framed picture of Mr. Krabs and Plankton can be spotted inside the Dr. Krabton's headquarters next to the elevator where their expression changes from smiling to worried when the angry mob walks out of the elevator.
- In the Amazon Prime Video version near the end when SpongeBob is trying to extract more grease, the track "Puka" is played in place of "Cheap and Frozen Jig."[citation needed]
- This is the second episode revolving around grease, after "Greasy Buffoons."
Dub facts[]
- In the Hebrew dub, Plankton's voice in the scene where he mistakes the goo for oil is different than any other episode. This is because Tomer Shavit voiced Plankton in that scene instead of Zvika Schwartzberg.
Episode references[]
- The soldiers from "Good Neighbors" were used as a starting point to design the soldier incidentals in this episode.[1]
- At one point, Incidental 37A can be seen holding the same doll Plankton had in "Walking Small."
- The Chum Bucket and the Krusty Krab sinking underground is similar to the ending of "Chum Caverns."
Cultural references[]
- This episode's title is a reference to the 2007 film, There Will Be Blood.
- SpongeBob using the Everything Juice to grow grass hair references the way to grow Chia Pets.
- When Mr. Krabs is counting his money, he says it akin to the 1970 Tootsie Pop commercial.
Errors[]
- Right before Sandy opens the door to her treedome, Mr. Krabs starts laughing and his pupils disappear for a split second.
- Sandy's tail is missing when she opens her door, but her tail comes back in later scenes with her.
- When the "Everything Juice" song begins, multiple mistakes appear in a single frame:
- Plankton disappears.
- Mr. Krabs has two noses.
- The spikes on Mr. Krabs' shell are absent.
- The right outline of Mr. Krabs' head goes through his mouth.
- While singing the "Everything Juice" song, Plankton's eye disappears for a frame.
- When Mr. Krabs gives Incidental 37B a bottle of Everything Juice during the "Everything Juice" song, Incidental 37B's tongue and oropharynx disappears inside his mouth for a frame.
- Near the end of the "Everything Juice" song, Incidental 118C can be seen with a dark green dorsal fin despite the fact that he is seen with his normal lavender colored dorsal fin when the song begins.
- In various shots during the "Everything Juice" song, the background characters are completely static.
