Squidward's Handsome face.

Squidward's face is hit by SpongeBob who accidentally slammed the door to his face while singing with Patrick. After undergoing surgery for 2 weeks, Squidward becomes handsome. At first everything was going fine, like getting comments from women (and men), signing autographs, getting a ride home in a limo. But all that change when Squidward's fans go crazy and taking his stuff and won't leave him alone. Everything is too much for Squidward so he goes to SpongeBob for help.

Handsome Squidward

Squidward's more handsome face.

Squidward wants to become his normal self, so he and SpongeBob races to Krusty Krab with the crowd following them. Mr. Krabs becomes overjoyed to see everyone at the entrance, and begins to name all the prices. While he does that, Squidward tells SpongeBob to slam the door against his face in order to make him normal again. SpongeBob doesn't want to do it, but Squidward threatens to hurt SpongeBob if he doesn't hurt him. So he begins to slam the door against Squidward's face repeatingly, but it only makes Squidward even more handsome. Suddenly, a shoe falls out of nowhere, and SpongeBob, who was alarmed by it, pushes Squidward out of the way. SpongeBob's push sends Squidward flying and causes him to hit a pole, while the shoe just bounces off of SpongeBob's head. The blow from the pole causes Squidward's face to become normal again.

The crowd, who is disappointed to see Squidward not handsome anymore, begins to walk away miserably, but Mr. Krabs, who is unhappy to see his beloved customers go away, tries to return Squidward's handsomeness by slamming the door repeatedly against his face.

Trivia/Goofs

  • The episode contains gay content, in which the male fishes chase and admire Squidward the same way as the female fishes do.
  • This episode's title spoof the 1957 film The Three Faces of Eve, the drama film featuring Joanne Woodward in her Academy Award-winning performance.
  • The fish doctor's voice [Dr. gill, who removed Squidward's bandages] differs from his previous episodes.
  • Dr. Gill had a mean attitude unlike other episodes.
  • The episode features music from the opera "Pagliacci" by Ruggero Leoncavallo, specifically the noted aria "Vesti la Giubba."
  • This episode was set to premiere with "The Inmates of Summer", but aired with "SpongeHenge" instead.
  • During the hospital scene, there is a television set in Squidward's room which Dr. Gill said "for the patient's enjoyment", which Squidward can't possibly watch due to the bandages on his head.
  • This episode seems to be an extended tribute to the famous Twilight Zone episode, "The Eye of the Beholder."
  • Squidward's head was really broken twice in this episode because before Squidward's face was broken in the beginning, he was shown as a thermometer, and when the mercury was reaching to the boiling point, his forehead breaks off.
  • This is the first time Squidward is on a title card. The second will be Oral Report.
  • There is another face of Squidward on a title card.
  • When we first see SpongeBob and Patrick, SpongeBob's not wearing his hat. The second time we see them, SpongeBob is wearing his hat.
  • When Squidward looked even more handsome, he bears a resemblance to Auguste Rodin's The Thinker (or maybe Sylvester Stallone).
  • When Squidward became even more handsome, his face was only supposed to change, but instead, his whole figure did.
  • When the flying boy's shoe falls, it falls in front of the house. But later, it lands in the Krusty Krab the next day.
  • The flying boy's shoe falls before the scene where Squidward goes to bed, and it lands on the next day, which means the shoe fell for two days.
  • SpongeBob tells Squidward that he was going to clip his toenails, but he is seen doing so the next day.
  • When Squidward jumps out of his window and runs to SpongeBob's house and walks in on him clipping his nails, he is wearing his underwear, and nothing else. But, when Squidward pulls SpongeBob by him, SpongeBob is wearing his normal clothes. Also, SpongeBob's legs were unusually hairy and bulged while he was clipping his toenails.
  • This is one of the few occasions when Squidward was acting like a friend to SpongeBob.
  • This may involve elements leading to a SpongeBob-Squidward platonic relationship of some sort. Another episode involving possible platonic elements is Dying for Pie.
  • On Squidward's second "handsome phase" it shows that he wears a belt on his shirt.
  • When the captions say (Man Screams), it has a man's name instead of Thaddeus' name.
  • Running gag: Every time Gill Gilliam tries to cut the bandages, SpongeBob shouts: "Doctor!"
  • When Squidward gets his bubble bath soap stolen from him he says, "Hey! My grandmother gave me that soap!", which indicates that his grandmother is alive but never shown.
  • In this episode enjoy that Squidward plays his clarinet well.
  • At the Krusty Krab, a red fish in the background only has pupils for a moment.
  • During the scene where SpongeBob pushes Squidward out of the way to avoid the falling shoe (and reverting him back to his old self), the song "Requiem" from "Dies Irae" by Guiseppe Verdi can be heard.
  • This episode is similar to the Simpsons episode Pygmoelian , where Moe gets plastic surgery to make himself handsome. It is returned to normal after being smashed with a wall.
  • When SpongeBob watches the television it shows Fred in a blue skin with a female fish.
  • When the people are stuck at the Krusty Krab, there are three Nat Petersons.
  • Squidward breaks the 4th wall by talking into the camera.
  • Before Squidward appears more handsome, (when Spongebob is hitting him repeatedly with the door), you hear some cracking noises. This could mean he is breaking some bones or his face, although he was hit with the door he should have had to go back to the hospital.
