- This is the fifth special to be a clip show.
- Instead of Patchy the Pirate hosting this special, Nate Burleson filled the spot to host this special. Von Miller was supposed to host, but was replaced for unknown reasons.[2]
- This special preceded an NFL Wild Card game playoff on Nickelodeon, which featured a sneak peek of the series' spin-off Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years at halftime.[3]
- "My leg!:" - Nate Burleson throws a fake flag making Fred scream "My leg!"
- This special had 1.05 million viewers, making it the first episode to have more than a million views since "Escape from Beneath Glove World."
