The SpongeBob Easter Eggstravaganza! was an event that occurred on Nickelodeon UK and Ireland between March 26 and April 13, 2012. The event was comprised of an exclusive competition for merchandise and a role in the SpongeBob SquarePants Magazine and a premiere week of new episodes from the eighth season.
Production[]
On March 24, 2012, NickALive! published an article announcing that new episodes would air as a part of a "SpongeBob Premiere Week" in April of 2012.[7] On the same day, the official Nickelodeon UK Twitter account would announce that new toys would available for purchase at ASDA for the Easter season.[8] On March 26, 2012, NickALive! would publish an article announcing a new competition entitled "The SpongeBob Easter Eggstravaganza!," giving kids the opportunity to earn merchandise, pocket money, and a potential role in a magazine surrounding the show.[1] More information about the previously announced premiere week was also revealed via the competition entry webpage, where it would be announced that the episodes would air from April 9, 2012 at 4:30pm.[2] These episodes would also repeat as new at 5:30pm on Nickelodeon Replay.[3]

The SpongeBob Easter Eggstravaganza![]
The Eggstravaganza! competition began on March 26, 2012.[1] Kids aged 5 thru 15 would be able to enter to have a chance at being the SpongeBob Magazine guest star for a day, and the entire SpongeBob pocket money range, which would be available at ASDA. The winner would get their picture and a shout-out in the magazine as a 'guest star', and be interviewed by the magazine team. They would have been able to pick the Bikini Bottom photos and the Pants Post, and get to write a couple of captions. Alongside these prizes, they would receive merchandise, including a SpongeBob sun hat or cap, sunglasses, and a water pistol. The 25 runner-ups would be able win a SpongeBob tub of goo and a water squirter. To enter the competition, one would have to answer the question of what noise Gary makes:
- Moo
- Meow
- Roar
After submitting various bits of personal information, they would be good to go. The closing date for entires would be April 10, 2012 at 10:00am.[2]
SpongeBob Premiere Week[]
A premiere week of new-to-the-UK episodes would air throughout April 9[2][3][4] - April 13, 2012.[5] This included every non-special or themed episode of season 8 prior to "House Sittin' for Sandy" that hadn't already aired in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

- The official Nickelodeon UK Twitter account promoted the event, including a piece of stock art of SpongeBob in a bunny costume, holding a basket of Easter eggs.[4]

- "The stage is set..." refers to SpongeBob's opera scene in "Squidward's School for Grown-Ups."
- "Grab your snails..." may refer to "Pet Sitter Pat" or "Sentimental Sponge."
- "unclog your bellybuttons..." refers to "Sentimental Sponge."
- "Barnacle Face" and "Pet Sitter Pat" were advertised as "spooky" episodes that would also air as a part of a separate event known as "Friday 13th Night Of Premieres."[5]
