— Andy, to Burger Beard.
Character

The Seagull Crew are a group of seagulls who appear as the secondary antagonists in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. They hang alongside and follow around Burger Beard and have specific names for each other, given by him.

Description[]

The Seagull Crew have many white and gray feathers, white heads, and white necks. Their eyes are yellow with black pupils. They have pink legs and orange beaks.

Role in movie[]

They first appear in the Burgermobile, playing cards while Burger Beard is off on the island above Bikini Bottom. When Burger Beard gets knocked from the island to his ship with a book that portrayed the beginning part of the movie, they want him to read the book to them. He stops the book at the post-apocalyptic Bikini Bottom, calling it "The End" until the seagulls make him continue reading.

As he continues reading, they eventually wash up on land, where they find out that his ship is also a food truck where he would be selling Krabby Patties. The Seagull Crew refuses to leave until he finishes the story. He answers that he would but offers up a snack, which turns out to be hot wings. This leads the others to point out that one of the birds, Kyle, was not there, which scares the others off. Meanwhile, Kyle comes out of the port-a-potty and is equally scared. Eventually, he calls a cab since he cannot fly.

They are seen a few times when Burger Beard fights against SpongeBob/Invincibubble, Patrick/Mr. Superawesomeness, Squidward/Sour Note, Mr. Krabs/Sir Pinch-a-Lot, Sandy/The Rodent, and Plankton/Plank-Ton.

At the end, after Burger Beard lands back on the same island, the birds catch up with him having him to sing the theme song with them. He finally agrees to it since he cannot find a way to say "no" to Kyle.

Trivia[]

  • In the UK release, the seagulls have different voice actors.[1] This even carries over into the Rap Battle scene at the end of the movie. However, the end-credits have not been corrected and still listed their US voice actors. The UK home release added the correct names after the Paramount logo fades.
    • Additionally, Kyle is voiced by Robert Irwin exclusively in the Australian release.[2]
  • The only seagulls with an official name are Kyle and Andy.
  • Kyle is the only seagull to appear in the junior novelization of the movie.
