Cover
The cover illustrates the SpongeBob SquarePants logo with "THE NEXT 100 EPISODES" underneath in big sponge-like font. "THE NEXT 100" is in yellow, and "EPISODES" is in white. SpongeBob represents the first "0" in "100." All of the main characters are jumping out from the sides, in addition to several of the animated supporting characters: Mermaid Man, Barnacle Boy, Larry the Lobster, and a group of jellyfish. Most of the characters have an ecstatic expression, but Squidward is scared, Plankton is angry, and Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy have serious expressions.

General
*This, The Third & Fourth Seasons and Movies & TV Collection are the first SpongeBob SquarePants DVDs to be released after Stephen Hillenburg's lifetime so far.

*Despite the title, the DVD set includes a total of 104 episodes.

*"Goodbye, Krabby Patty?" premiered on February 20, 2017, making it the only episode on the entire box set that premiered in 2017, while all the other episodes premiered between the years of 2008 - 2016.

*"Truth or Square" and "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!" are the only Patchy the Pirate episodes on this DVD set.

*16 discs are included in the set, two more than The First 100 Episodes box set's 14.

**This is possibly due to being more bonus features, the 4 extra episodes, or less episodes on the discs than in its predecessor.

*This DVD was released 11 years after "A Life in a Day" premiered, 10 years after "Squid's Visit" premiered, eight years after "Squidward's School for Grown-Ups" premiered and six years after "Are You Happy Now?" and "Planet of the Jellyfish" premiered in Greece.

*Unlike The First 100 Episodes, where all of the discs had a unique menu screen to signify it is part of the 100 Episodes DVD set as well as combining multiple episodes even if they cross into another season, this DVD set simply repackages the Seasons 6-9 DVD sets with the only difference being the DVDs have new artwork to match the box set. Thus, all DVDs will feature the normal menu from their respective season, and no discs will ever cross into another season like the first box set did.

Revision as of 22:42, 1 April 2020

The Next 100 Episodes is a SpongeBob SquarePants DVD set that was released on June 4, 2019[2] and it contains all of the episodes from seasons 6, 7, 8, and 9.[3] This is the sequel to The First 100 Episodes DVD that was released in 2009.

The discs contain all of the same content from the DVD sets of seasons 6-9. They include no new special features. The cover art is reused from the SpongeBob SquareShort Film Competition and SpongeBob Fan Shellabration.

Most of the characters have an ecstatic expression, except for Squidward, who is scared, Plankton, who is angry, and Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy, who both have serious expressions.

Each of the 16 discs has a different character or set of characters on it. In most releases, they are all in one case, divided into sections. In the Walmart release, there are separate cases.
