Synopsis[]
It's Patrick's birthday, and Cecil and Bunny are going to take him for a special lunch. He sees a commercial on TV for the Fun Bucket, a party place, and wants to go there. Meanwhile, Plankton is in the Chum Bucket, having been fined by the health inspector. He is building a giant robot to destroy the inspector as revenge. Plankton electrocutes himself with the robot's remote, short-circuiting the restaurant's sign. The F-grade poster gets blown away by the wind and sticks on the sign, so when the Stars arrive at the restaurant, the word "Chum" has turned into "Fun."
When the family enters, Plankton yells at them to get out. Cecil digs through his pockets to find the right address, and the rest of the family do the same, but they only end up pulling out lots of Patrick's birthday money. Karen tells Plankton that he can pay off the fine with the money, so Plankton claims he was just joking.
Patrick complains that the Chum Bucket is boring and lists some of what the Fun Bucket has. To appease him, Plankton throws chum as decorations and gives out party hats, which are take-out bags still full of chum. For entertainment, he has Karen act as a Pong game. Patrick beats GrandPat, who goes off to play adult games and mistakes the bathroom for a casino. The Stars then go to check out the "rides and games" in Plankton's laboratory, destroying it all before Plankton can stop them.
They then chant for pizza, and Plankton makes a pizza out of chum, disappointing the family. Squidina spits out some of her food and it hits Cecil, who starts a food fight. They end up launching all the chum into Plankton's mouth, to his disgust. Patrick then asks for his birthday song, with a robot band like at the Fun Bucket. After being reminded by Karen that he cannot have the robot kill Patrick, Plankton gets his robot to play birthday music while serving Patrick a cake made from toxic waste. Him badly singing a high note makes the robot attack him and light him on fire in the middle of the cake, so Patrick blows him out to make a birthday wish.
Reaching his breaking point, Plankton declares the party over and kicks the family out. However, they cannot pay because GrandPat has flushed all their money down the toilet. Plankton traps them until they can pay off their debt by stealing the Krabby Patty secret formula. Patrick easily escapes and steals it, but the health inspector, who turns out to be Mr. Krabs in disguise, takes it back. Krabs squashes Plankton with a penny as change for his fine, then steals it back. Plankton, now shaped like a coin, rolls into the bathroom, where GrandPat flushes him down the toilet, making it back up and spray money and water everywhere.
