The Complete First Season is the re-release of the SpongeBob SquarePants DVD box set The Complete 1st Season. It was released on November 13, 2012 and contains 41 episodes from season 1.

Trivia
- "Help Wanted," the pilot episode of the series, was not included on the original release due to issues with Tiny Tim's song "Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight" that is played in the episode. However, it appeared as a bonus feature on the Complete Third Season and 10 Happiest Moments. It's also available on The First 100 Episodes box set, the SpongeBob, You're Fired! DVD, and The Pilot a Mini-Movie and the Square Shorts DVD.
- However, on this reissue, the episode "Help Wanted" actually is included, including the German release of this DVD set, but plays after "Reef Blower" in the U.S. release.[1]
- This is currently the only season to not contain any double-length episodes.
- This DVD release was rated PG in Canada for brief and mild violence: it is the only seasonal DVD release in the country to have this rating. Seasons 2-8 onward are rated G in Canada.
- This DVD set was released six years after Creature from the Krusty Krab was released in the United States for Wii and five years after the premiere of "Are We There Yet?," "Beware Flying Jellyfish," "Documenting Our Road Trip," and SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis DVD was released.
- At some point in 2014, this was released in a SpongeBob SquarePants 2-Season Pack with The Complete Second Season.
Errors
- The DVD main menu showed clips of "Your Shoe's Untied" and "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V" as well as various season 2 and 3 clips, but those episodes weren't on this DVD.
- In the Episode Selection on disc 3, the image for "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II" is not from that episode. The image is actually from "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III," which is not on this DVD. This error also happens on the Lost at Sea DVD.
- The "Employee of the Month" description says SpongeBob has been employee of the month for 226 months, while SpongeBob says in the episode he's been employee of the month for 26 months.
