Reception[]

  • Jason Bovberg of DVDTalk.com said in a review that "whether you should purchase this set depends on what level of fan you are and how many of the 'theme' sets you've already purchased." He praised the extras and the video quality, although he noticed the lack of new home video releases of episodes in the set (at the time of its release, only 15 out of the 40 episodes in the set had never been on home video in North America). He also criticized the lack of the pilot episode "Help Wanted," describing the set as "annoying" for missing it.[1]
  • Bill Treadway of the DVD Verdict praised the video and audio quality of the set, comparing it to other television shows getting "lackluster treatment on DVD," saying "there is much to enjoy, even in the lackluster episodes." However, he also slightly criticized the absence of the pilot.[2]

Trivia[]

General[]

Errors[]

  • On the back of disc 1, the apostrophe in "Sandy's Rocket" is placed too far to the right, just above the "S."
  • In the disc 2 episode description of "I Was a Teenage Gary," there is a part that reads, "Gary medicine," instead of "Gary's medicine."
  • In the disc 3 episode description of "Neptune's Spatula," there is a part that reads "Worlds Greatest Fry Cook," instead of "World's Greatest Fry Cook," also missing an apostrophe.

Characters artwork on the spine of The Complete 1st Season original 2003 DVD

Incorrect stock art of Sandy used on the spine of this DVD.

  • Despite the spine of the DVD artwork and menu featuring the characters including Sandy with her tail sticking out of her suit, Sandy's tail was not shown while her suit was on in all episodes of this season until "Wormy" in season 2.
