Synopsis[]
The camp is visited by a rugged woodsman named Paul Grunion, who fights an attacking sea bear and pulls off many impressive feats with his beard, to the campers' amazement. Tired from his trip to camp, he pitches a tent and takes a nap, and SpongeBob and Patrick sneak in. They found out he took his beard off, and run away when they suspect him starting to wake up. Patrick takes the beard with them, and while SpongeBob wants to return it, they each take turns using the beard's powers. Patrick tries making a campfire with the beard, but he ends up burning it, and he and SpongeBob ruin the beard while putting out the fire.
Paul wakes up and is no longer as strong because he does not have his beard. SpongeBob and Patrick see how sad he is without it and try to help him grow a new beard. However, their attempts fail, and Paul no longer feels respected by the campers. SpongeBob gives a speech to everyone that they need to believe Paul can grow his beard back, convincing him and causing him to grow it back. This leaves the campers with beards just like his as well. Paul thanks them, and SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy say goodbye as he leaves camp.
