The twelfth season of the American animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants, created by former marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg, was announced on May 5, 2017.[1] A total of 26 half-hour episodes were produced for this season. Season 12 first aired on November 11, 2018 with the episode "FarmerBob" and ended on April 29, 2022 with "Kwarantined Krab."
This season was released on DVD on January 12, 2021 (though the episode "Kwarantined Krab" is excluded from the DVD, due to the plot being unintentionally similar to the COVID-19 pandemic[2]).
