He is a dark green fish in white and pink boxers who wears a smiling dark red heart costume.

Role in series[]

The heart man has only made two episode appearances as well as a book and game appearance. He has always been portrayed to be a mascot dressed in a costume in all of his appearances. The heart man has been absent from the series for 18 years ever since his debut appearance in "Valentine's Day" but later made a comeback in the season 11 episode, "The Night Patty."

The heart man first appears with Incidental 142, Incidental 143, Incidental 144, and the other one of the kid fish at park at the Valentine's Day Carnival. Patrick, furious over not receiving any special gifts, rips his costume in half and scares the children, revealing underneath a fish in his boxers.

"The Night Patty"[]

He is among the many people who SpongeBob pulls out of the cooler in the Krusty Krab kitchen.
