Although many of you aren't aware of this, there was actually a different ending when this episode first aired. I know because I actually saw that ending when I first watched the episode. Here's what happened in the original:
After Mrs. Puff wakes up from her false awakenings, Spongebob once again crashes into the truck and the same thing is repeated all over. But this time, when the cops came, they arrested Spongebob instead of Mrs. Puff. Spongebob screamed for help as the police van took him away.
