Location

Surface Land is a location that appears in the episode "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout."

Description[]

It is the area above water, where humans and other land life reside. Part of it seems to be in a suburban-like location which is near the Trusty Slab and is in California somewhere north-northwest of Los Angeles by the Pacific Ocean in the series. The Crumb Basket is another restaurant in Surface Land. In real life the Trusty Slab isn't even near the Pacific Ocean but is instead in Castaic, California where Mike's Diner is with the beach locations being somewhere in California with the Crumb Basket also being near the ocean somewhere.

Role in episode[]

In celebration of SpongeBob's birthday, he and Patrick travel to the Surface Land in a fish tank driven by Rube Goldfish. While the two were there, Sandy and the rest of SpongeBob's friends decorate his house for a surprise party when he gets back. During their time in Surface Land, they stumble upon a fish store, and are brought inside after being mistaken for an aquarium. The group manages to escape with all the other fish and return to Bikini Bottom.
