"Stuck on the Roof" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season eleven. In this episode, SpongeBob is afraid to get off the roof of the Krusty Krab, but he won't let that stop him from living his life.

The episode starts with Mr. Krabs tasking SpongeBob to retrieve a Krabby Patty from the roof after accidentally getting it stuck into the chimney. SpongeBob goes up there, but accidentally slips on a drop of ketchup while on there and drops the patty onto the ground. Mr. Krabs asks him to come down, but since SpongeBob's afraid of heights, he's too scared to come down, even after several people try to help him.

SpongeBob is alone on the roof, but decides to make a bed so he'll feel more comfortable. After that, he sees Squidward eating alone for dinner, so he makes a shadow of his fingers to be with Squidward. However, this scares him and makes him run out of his house.

The next day, Mr. Krabs puts SpongeBob's grill on the roof so he can still work up there. SpongeBob recreates his kitchen on the roof, but he can't get the Krabby Patties to the customers because he's on the roof. He utilizes napkins to send the Krabby Patties down to the customers. Since the Krabby Patties were cold, the customers go up on the roof to get them fresh.

While everyone is eating on the roof of the restaurant, a storm comes and blows everyone away. Luckily, SpongeBob builds another Krusty Krab on top of the original so everyone can be safe from the storm. When the customers get bored of being inside, SpongeBob puts on music and everyone starts dancing. The mud starts wearing down because of the storm and the bottom Krusty Krab sinks. The episode ends with SpongeBob back on the ground again, while Squidward is trapped underground after relaxing in the bottom Krusty Krab.

The episode was confirmed by Vincent Waller on July 2, 2017.[1]

  • On the title card, the Krusty Krab is missing the chimney and antenna it has on its roof.
  • Squidward's explosion is the same explosion as the one he made in "Jellyfishing" and "My Pretty Seahorse."
  • This is the first and only episode where "The Rake Hornpipe" is used as the title card music.
  • Squidward's statue from "Are You Happy Now?" can be seen when he tries to leave the Krusty Krab when it is buried underground. However, it was destroyed in that episode.
  • It is revealed in this episode that SpongeBob has acrophobia, which is a fear of heights.
    • But in "Hooky," SpongeBob jumps down a hook even though he says in this episode he is allergic, and in these two episodes he jumps without any reactions.
    • SpongeBob also jumped off a Ferris wheel in "Glove World R.I.P."
  • SpongeBob is seen wiggling his butt in a similar fashion to how he danced in "Pizza Delivery."
    • He also serves the patties on his butt the same way he does in "I ♥ Dancing."
  • This is the second episode where SpongeBob is shown to have a storage case for the Krabby Patty ingredients in his pants. The first was "The Splinter."
  • Fred breaks the fourth wall by questioning the possibility of having rain underwater. Patrick does the same thing questioning fire underwater in "Life of Crime."

  • In every shot where SpongeBob is on the Krusty Krab's roof, the antenna on the roof disappears.
    • In one shot, the chimney on the roof is in place of where the antenna would be.
  • When SpongeBob is comforting Squidward with the torch, the Krusty Krab seems to be located opposite SpongeBob, Patrick and Squidward's house.
