"Steel Licks 22," also known as "Steel Sting" was composed by Jeremy Wakefield. It is the twenty-second and most used segment of the numerous "Steel Licks." It features a short steel guitar lick being played and it plays in many episodes, starting with season 2. Starting with "Ghoul Fools," this steel lick has been replaced by "Hot Steel and Slide Licks 7." It is mostly used to punctuate a gag.

Trivia[]
- Between "Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom" and "Gary & Spot," this sting took nearly eight years to return.
- The latter is the only season 12 episode to play this sting and - by extension - any part of the "Steel Licks."
- This track has become a moderately popular internet meme, used very similarly to how it is used in the show.
