"Steel Licks 1" was composed by Jeremy Wakefield. It is the first segment of the numerous "Steel Licks." It features a short steel guitar lick being played and it plays in many episodes, starting with season 4. Starting with "Plankton's Good Eye," this steel lick has been replaced by "Hot Steel and Slide Licks 1."
