Steal a SpongeBob is an officially licensed SpongeBob SquarePants online multiplayer video game created and developed by the SpongeBob Tower Defense developers Wonder Works Studio in collaboration with Paramount under the group "Square Sponge." It is available to play for free as an experience on the Roblox platform. This game is the successor to SpongeBob Tower Defense and followed by Survive Bikini Bottom.

The game follows the formula of the "Steal a" genre on Roblox, popularized by Steal a Brainrot. In the game, players must purchase different characters for their base, they can also steal characters from other player's bases if they are left unguarded.

The game is built in the Roblox engine. The player can walk and jump. In this game, the player has to steal Bikini Bottom residents to their Krusty Krab base.

General[]

This game reuses most of its assets from SpongeBob Tower Defense and again in Survive Bikini Bottom, which is also developed by Wonder Works Studio.
- Like in SpongeBob Tower Defense, the model for the Krusty Krab is reused from the unofficial SpongeBob SquarePants fangame The Spongy Construction Project due to the developers getting permission from Spongeis5, the developer of The Spongy Construction Project.^[3]^[4]

This is the fourth officially-licensed Roblox experience to feature SpongeBob and the franchise, the first being Nickverse, the second being SpongeBob Simulator, and the third being SpongeBob Tower Defense.
This is the first and only SpongeBob SquarePants Roblox experience to not feature a logo.
Some characters like The Appetizer and the Cyclops made appearances in the game before in SpongeBob Tower Defense.

Episode references[]

The SpongeBob thumbs up picture on the likes board is reused from "Two Thumbs Down."

The Square Sponge group's description reads "Ravioli, ravioli, give me the formuoli!," referencing the episode "Imitation Krabs."^[5]
