Starfishman is Patrick Star's alter-ego in the video games Creature from the Krusty Krab and Nighty Nightmare.

Description

Creature from the Krusty Krab

He is Patrick with a blue cape and some red goggles. When he spins, his clothes will change, sometimes to a red and black-striped suited version of himself, or a form similar to his usual look except with only his underpants worn.

Nighty Nightmare

He wears a completely different costume that is similar to Superman, which consists of a light blue costume with a yellow shield-shaped emblem on the chest, consisting of a smiling yellow star with shades and a thick blue outline, a pink cape which has the same emblem embedded and a thick yellow belt.

Powers/Abilities

Creature from the Krusty Krab

  • Double jump: Starfishman can do a second jump after jumping once.
  • Spin attack: Starfishman's most basic method of attack. In the GBA version of the game, Starfishman executes a punch, punch, push combo instead while in the DS version, he is only required to touch an enemy that is stunned by the player.
  • Dash attack: Starfishman dashes at enemies to defeat them and can also be used to move faster through the level.
  • Bluster puff attack: Starfishman blows a strong gust of wind to take down his enemies.
  • Smash attack: Starfishman can jump into the air and perform a downward smash by charging towards the ground with his fist.
  • Flight: In the DS/GBA version of the game, Starfishman can fly for a limited time.
  • Hot and cold powers: Usable only in the level "Starfishman to the Rescue," Starfishman can sense where certain mechanisms are, thanks to a radar pointing him in the right direction.

Nighty Nightmare

  • Tongue Lash: Starfishman extends his tongue to slash through an enemy.
  • Fart: Starfishman farts in order to gain a short speed boost.
  • Throwing Star: During the second phase, Starfishman shoots stars onto oncoming clowns.

Starfishman first appears in the first chapter, "Starfishman to the Rescue". After Patrick wakes up from a nightmare, he sees a news broadcast saying that the Dreaded Patrick is attacking Bikini Bottom. Patrick soon jumps out from his rock and transforms into Starfishman. He proceeds to go after Dreaded Patrick, all while doing things such as stopping a train from ramming a citizen and finding pieces of his missing clothes. He also goes around the town searching for detergents.

Once he collects all of them, Dreaded Patrick appears and reveals his plan about launching an innocent civilian starfish as the "The First Fish in Space". He taunts Starfishman into combat by sending minions and debris. Starfishman wins the duel and goes to rescue the citizen, however, he was knocked out by the minions who sneaked past behind him.

After he wakes up, he realizes that he was tied to the rocket and blasted into space by his nemesis. However, while he was blasted off into space, he accidentally hits a ring-shaped asteroid, which falls into Earth and traps Dreaded Patrick in it.

In the chapter, "Rocket Rodeo", Patrick wakes up, still tied to the rocket. After realizing what happened, he flies the rocket through space, while trying to break free from the rope. Throughout his flight, he keeps getting attacked by a Krabby Patty-shaped UFO. He flies through a black hole and finds a space station on a collision course with asteroids. While inside, he succeeds in untying himself from the rocket and proceeds to man a laser turret to destroy the asteroids, meanwhile avoiding other objects.

After destroying the incoming asteroids, he leaves the station on the rocket again, also being able to use the rocket's laser guns. Starfishman pursues the Krabby Patty UFO, and in a following dogfight, takes it down. He then flies back towards Earth, but cannot stop the rocket from heading down.

In the second-to-the-last chapter, "Rooftop Rumble", Patrick again wakes up on the rocket, which has plunged into the ocean and is heading straight down towards the rooftops of Bikini Bottom. He then panics and presses a button on the side of the rocket, which stops it, and he gets off. After landing, he finds Mermaid Man on the rooftops and begs him to help him defeat a now-enormous Plankton.

Starfishman was forced to face Giant Plankton by eliminating his minions and outsmarting the giant by throwing back his attacks against him. Starfishman also signaled the Bikini Bottom Defense Force to distract the giant while he smash the giant's fingers, hoping to make him lose grip. After a long preparation, Mermaid Man shows Patrick four hidden shrink lasers, which Patrick uses on Plankton to make him small again. A shrunken Plankton falls on top of Patrick, thus ending the battle.

When unlocked and chosen on the final chapter, "Hypnotic Highway", Starfishman flies his space rocket in the race against SpongeBob and Plankton while also avoid colliding with the monsters on the track. After surviving throughout the race and winning, the scene will immediately cuts to Patrick's ending.

Nighty Nightmare

As the narrator introduces the threat to the audience, Starfishman flies out of his rock, ready to fight against Dreaded Patrick's minions, who are actually types of people that Patrick doesn't like, such as dentists, door-to-door salesmen and personal trainers, until the city is cleared from the minions.

After clearing out the city, Starfishman senses a horde of demoralized circus clowns on jetpacks approaching from the air. He launches himself to fight airborne by shooting down the clowns until he defeats the boss clown. After defeating the boss of the horde, he chases down Dreaded Patrick until he corners the evil starfish at the destroyed Krusty Krab. Dreaded Patrick suddenly reveals that he staged the city invasion to distract Starfishman, giving him a chance to rip off the cape, which is the hero's source of power.

The dream suddenly proceeds into nightmare as the powerless Starfishman suddenly transported into a dark, evil-looking cave. He proceeds to move through the cave, only equipped with a portable vacuum cleaner that he uses to defeat lint worms and soap scum.

After traversing to the center, he encounters Dreaded Patrick, who he asked about where they are currently. The villain reveals that they're currently in Patrick's house, which was dangerously filthy that he didn't need to put any traps on. The two suddenly engage in combat and continued on until they ended up in Jellyfish Fields where Starfishman finally defeats Dreaded Patrick.

Trivia

  • He is similar to Patrick Man, as they are both superhero alter-egos of Patrick.
  • The Stafishman seen in Creature from the Krusty Krab was revealed in the end as a part of Dream Patrick's dream which is contained in Gary's dream. However, in Nighty Nightmare, the Starfishman seen is a part of the real Patrick's dream.
