"Squidness Protection" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season 15. In this episode, Squidward's amazing new life in witness protection is threatened after SpongeBob and Patrick discover his whereabouts.

Synopsis[]
The music store robbery.
Squidward, under the name John Dolphin, is living a wonderful new life in New Kelp City. He explains that weeks ago, he went to the music store to return a defective clarinet reed, only to be held up by a robber named Elmer Eraser. Threatened by Elmer if he tells, Squidward remains silent when the cops arrive and ask him for information. When the cop says he would have to go into witness protection, having a different job, house, and never seeing his friends or neighbors again, Squidward confesses he saw everything.
In the present day, Squidward finds Patrick and SpongeBob interrupting his concert, and escapes out of fear. They follow him to his house, explaining that they tracked down his scent after noticing he had not been at work. Squidward tells them he is on the run from Elmer, and kicks them out. Just then, Elmer arrives and SpongeBob prevents Patrick from giving away Squidward's location.
SpongeBob and Patrick promise to protect Squidward.
SpongeBob returns to Squidward and wants to keep him safe, and he takes him to a glass house so they can more easily watch out for Elmer. However, Elmer notices them, and they attempt to drive off, only to be caught by a crane in a junkyard. They hide in a fire hydrant, which Elmer erases, and the water launches them to a tree. They climb it for safety, but Elmer erases it and topples it, flinging them to the mountains.
They hide out in a cabin, and Elmer again catches them, making Squidward escape on skis while SpongeBob rides on Patrick down the mountain. Squidward crashes and tumbles into a cave, where Elmer catches up to him. He then reveals himself to not be a criminal, but Elmer's twin brother, a detective who wanted to tell Squidward he does not need witness protection because Elmer Eraser has been caught and sent to jail. Unhappy, Squidward returns to his regular life. As SpongeBob and Patrick are annoying him, he takes out his own eraser and erases them.

- Ironically, the title punning the episode was one of the original titles for the season 4 episode "That's No Lady," 18 years and 11 seasons earlier.
