Oh, blast this confounded instrument. If I never learn to play with ease, may my own great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson be cursed tenfold.

This is the page about a medieval counterpart of him. For other uses, see Squidward (disambiguation).

Character

Squidly Tentacles is a character who first appears in the episode "Dunces and Dragons." He is a jester for the King Krabs and the medieval ancestor of Squidward Tentacles.

Description[]

He is a turquoise octopus that is similar in appearance to Squidward. He wears a jester outfit that is colored crimson and burnt orange, and has a black colored belt with a gold buckle.

Personality[]

Much like Squidward, he plays the clarinet and also sings. However, unlike Squidward, Squidly seems to be more nice mannered than his grumpy descendant was, as he is not as hostile towards SpongeBob and Patrick.

Role in series[]

He meets the time travelers SpongeBob and Patrick while he is in prison, and sets out with them to rescue Princess Pearl Krabs. They succeed but at the end, however, Squidly accidentally goes to SpongeBob and Patrick's time which is the future.

Role in SpongeBob Simulator[]

He appears as a buddy from the Super Goober Clam.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike his descendant, he acknowledges his inability at the clarinet.
  • It is implied he is Squidward's seventh great-grandfather (great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather), as he curses his seventh great grandson tenfold.
  • While terrible at the clarinet, he is a better singer.
  • Squidly's name sounds similar to the Hanna-Barbera character Squiddly Diddly who is also an anthropomorphic octopus with "squid" in his name.
  • Squidly and Squidasaurus Rex are the ancestors of the Tentacles family that are both still alive in the present since they accidentally time traveled to the present.
