One player and the other must grab the object, jump on the platforms, avoid obstacles, and deliver the object to SpongeBob by running into him.

- On the screen in the background, popular clips from the show can often be seen playing.
- When this game debuted, the text that reads "Race to SpongeBob" incorrectly lowercased the first "B" in SpongeBob's name, instead reading "Race to Spongebob," however this error was fixed soon after.
- Squidward appears without wrinkles.
