SpongeBob Summer is a month-long SpongeBob SquarePants marathon on Nicktoons UK, taking place during the central months of summer vacation. Initially airing from 9:30am to 5:00pm everyday between July 26 and August 31, 2021, it was eventually brought back in 2022, starting on July 4. This time, the event was shortened by 30 minutes; losing two hours in the afternoon, however, gaining 1.5 hours in the morning. It now ran from 8:00am to 3:00pm, it ended again on August 31, 2022.
Trivia[]
General[]
- This marathon's title is similar to SpongeBob's Summer of New Premieres which was from June 2011.
- While that event was built around premieres, this event seems to have been constructed entirely out of reruns.
- That event also took place during June, while this event takes place between July and August.
Errors[]
- Towards the end of the promo video, SpongeBob's name in "SpongeBob Summer" is misspelled as "Spongebob".
- During the 11:30am airing "Suction Cup Symphony" on July 27, 2021, one of the voices of the construction workers is muted for a couple of seconds.
- On July 26, 2021, some TV guides listed "Stanley S. SquarePants" at 3:30pm, whereas other TV guides listed "Scaredy Pants" at the same time. The latter episode aired over the former.[1] The same day, some TV guides listed "House Fancy" at 4:00pm, whereas other TV guides listed "Teacher's Pests" at the same time. Similar to the previous situation, the latter episode aired.
- With the airing of "Krabby Road" at 4:30pm on July 27, 2021, the guide said that the episode would air, however a bumper later appeared stating that an episode of Lego City Adventures would run instead. "Krabby Road" reran either way. The same thing would happen the next day at the same time with another Season 6 episode, "Nautical Novice."
