History[]

The dub began airing on Nicktoons Africa on July 14, 2022 at 2:30 PM with "Jellyfishing" and "Plankton!" in celebration of SpongeBob's 36th birthday and to teach Zulu, which is one of the native languages of South Africa. After good reception, the dub started its full run on December 5, 2022 with the 11th season, airing every weekday at 3 PM.^[2]

Trivia[]

This is the first (and currently only) African language dub of SpongeBob SquarePants.
When "Jellyfishing" and "Plankton!" were posted on Nickelodeon Africa's Facebook, the audio was slow and had errors.^[3]
