Kings of the Night
After staying up past their bedtimes, SpongeBob and Patrick vow to go for it and stay up all night. Their mission is to become "Kings of Night"—Ã³ and the nocturnal antics that ensue are worth donning those night-vision goggles.
Then, Silver Age legend Ramona Fradon joins with Batman scribe Chuck Dixon to weave a tale of Mermaid Man's run-in with true love, in a story called "The Lovely Lure of Lady Mackerel." Also in this issue: SpongeBob tries out different shapes to improve business at the Krusty Krab and poker-playing pirates try out a new deck of SpongeBob-themed cards.
- This is the first SpongeBob comic to not have a caption on the cover.
- This comic was released on Dennis Quaid's 60th birthday and two years after "InSPONGEiac" premiered.
- The cover is a reference to the King playing card.
