SpongeBob 25 is an ongoing worldwide campaign celebrating the silver jubilee of SpongeBob SquarePants. It was officially announced on May 22, 2024.[1] The campaign is slated to include numerous promotional activities and events, including the 2024 Kids' Choice Awards hosted by SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, the 25th anniversary special episodes, the spin-off film Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie and other celebrations.[2]

SpongeBob SquarePants anniversary specials[]
To celebrate the 25th anniversary, season 14 featured multiple specials acting as sequels to previous episodes. These specials aired throughout 2024 with "Squidiot Box" first airing on February 12, 2024, followed by "Blood is Thicker Than Grease," "PL-1413," "In the Mood to Feud," "Mooned!," and "Hysterical History" all airing between July 15 and July 18, 2024.
A one-hour-long Halloween special, "Kreepaway Kamp" aired on October 10, 2024 on Nickelodeon during the 31 Nights of Frights event and was released on Paramount+ the same day.[3]
"Snow Yellow," a parody of Disney's 1937 fairytale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, aired on November 11, 2024.
A stop-motion Christmas special, "Sandy's Country Christmas" aired on December 2, 2024 during the 25 Days of Spongemas event.

Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie debuted on Netflix on August 2, 2024. The story involves Sandy Cheeks and SpongeBob journeying to Sandy's home state of Texas, where they meet Sandy's family and must save Bikini Bottom from the hands of an evil CEO.
Play Like a Sponge UK shorts[]
In occasion of the 2024 Summer Olympics, a new shortform series called Play Like a Sponge aired in the United Kingdom. The series is about "inspiring kids to find their inner SpongeBob as he cheers them on in their quest to learn about and sample new sports with Paralympic athletes ahead of the upcoming games in Paris."

SpongeBob's Crazy Carnival Ride, an interactive dark ride based on the series, opened at Circus Circus Las Vegas in Winchester, Nevada on March 1, 2024, in collaboration with Sally Dark Rides.[2]
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County partnered with Nickelodeon Our World to educate children and their families on marine science, a mission including both in-person and online elements.[2][5][6]
Select aquariums in the United States hosted SpongeBob-themed activities, such as scavenger hunts and episode screenings.[2]
A SpongeBob meet-and-greet occurred at VidCon Anaheim 2024 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California between June 26 and June 29, 2024.[7]
In celebration of the 25th anniversary, Nickelodeon Universe at American Dream held a 25-day event from July 8 to August 2, 2024. The event featured a variety of SpongeBob-themed activities, including live performances by Tom Kenny and the Hi-Seas, character meet-and-greets, trivia contests, special guest performances, photo opportunities, and a Nautical Nonsense Character Parade.
A SpongeBob-specific panel was featured at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. The "Celebrating 25 Years of Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants" panel took place on July 25, 2024. Voice actors Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, Carolyn Lawrence, Clancy Brown, and Doug Lawrence, and executive producers Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller, along with special guests, were present at the panel, which was moderated by Kel Mitchell. The panel featured a live cast read of "Help Wanted" and other exclusive content. The convention also included an interactive experience centered around "Help Wanted," utilizing 3D animation and augmented reality.[8]

A SpongeBob SquarePants-themed panel was also featured at New York Comic Con 2024. The "Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants 25th Anniversary Celebration" panel took place on October 18, 2024.[9][10] The voice cast and executive producers featured at this convention to confirm aspects of the franchise's future. Seasons 4 and 5 of The Patrick Star Show were officially confirmed, as well as the reveal of two holiday specials, "Thanks But No Thanksgiving" and "Squidina's Holidaze Special." Sneak peeks were also shown for the SpongeBob SquarePants season 14 specials, "Snow Yellow" and "Sandy's Country Christmas." The voice cast also did live scene reads from "Scaredy Pants" and "Band Geeks."[11]
The Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego was also briefly SpongeBob-themed during Comic-Con.
At the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on November 28, 2024, the SpongeBob and Gary balloon that debuted in 2019 returned for its fourth year. The balloon was 44 feet tall, 46 feet long, and 36 feet wide. This time, the balloon was accompanied by a float called "The Garriage," a carriage that involved a giant version of Gary and appeared to be driven by SpongeBob himself.[12] During the parade, Tom Kenny appeared on the carriage as Patchy the Pirate as it went through the streets of New York City.

On July 13, 2024, the amusement park Mirabilandia, located in Savio, Ravenna, held a SpongeBob-themed event called "SpongeBob Party."[2][13]
Colombia[]
Throughout July and August, 2024, the Parque Arauco malls in Colombia featured multiple SpongeBob-themed activities.[2]
Brazil[]
In April 2024, the first official SpongeBob-themed restaurant opened in Sao Paulo, Brazil, called Bob Esponja – Burguer & Restaurante. [14][15] The restaurant contains two floors, the first floor being called "The Flying Dutchman's Lounge" and the second floor being called "SpongeBob House." It also contains a SpongeBob themed store.
Japan[]
CAFE Secret Recipe was a pop-up café in Shibuya, Tokyo. It opened on June 13 and closed on November 4, 2024.[16] It had featured dishes inspired by the characters and merchandise based off the café itself.
Mexico[]
In August 2024, Sketchers Mexico hosted a SpongeBob-themed racing event that will be held on November 10 in the Vivieros de Coyacán in Mexico City.[17]
Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts celebrated the anniversary with events throughout July as part a "Summer of SpongeBob" program. Both resorts in Mexico and Dominican Republic featured various SpongeBob-themed activities, including the beach-themed overlays and the sandcastle displays by local artists.
The SpongeBob Musical Contest[]
The SpongeBob Musical Contest is a competition open to all school and youth group, launched by Concord Theatricals. The ten winning schools or youth groups in the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec) will be awarded with a complementary license package to perform The SpongeBob Musical between September 2024 to December 2025.[18]

The Krabby Patty Kollab[]
The Krabby Patty Kollab was a collaboration between multiple chefs and celebrities which brought their own interpretation of a real-life Krabby Patty. It was featured over 250 local restaurants in North America and in London such as Wendy's and Pinkbox Doughnuts between October 8 and October 27, 2024.[2][19] Wendy's restaurants sold two special menu items, the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty.
Home Chef x SpongeBob SquarePants[]
Home Chef x SpongeBob SquarePants was a collaboration between SpongeBob SquarePants and Home Chef, a meal-kit service. 6 meals inspired by the series were released, including the Pineapple Under the Sea Burger with "tiki" teriyaki sauce
and cilantro "kelp" fries, The "Krusty Krab Pizza" Flatbread, and Sandy's Texas-style Honey BBQ Chicken with cheddar mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The meals come in SpongeBob-branded boxes, in which the ingredients come in a plastic bag. The boxes also come with a free SpongeBob mini-spatula.

A set of playing cards was released on September 2024, in collaboration with Unbox Industries. Each cards uses illustrations drawn by different artists such as Eric Robles, Raul Urias, Jisu Choi, Daniel Mackey, and more.[20][21]
Funko Pop! Figures and Pop Plush[]
On May 29, 2024, Funko announced a new wave of SpongeBob SquarePants Funko Pop! figures and plushies to celebrate the 25th anniversary. These figures are based off iconic scenes from the series such as "Mocking SpongeBob," "SpongeBob With The Suds," and "Glove World SpongeBob," among others.[22]
Burger King Tiki Cups[]
From May 17 to June 6, 2024,[23] Burger King released a set of six cups with a tiki design, one of each being inspired by a character: SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Plankton, and Gary.

Crocs released a limited-edition footwear collection inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants for the anniversary.

In honor of the celebration, the Another 100 Episodes DVD box set was released on October 15, 2024, containing every episode from seasons 10-14.
The Best 300 Episodes Ever DVD box set, which includes the aforementioned set as well as The First 100 Episodes and The Next 100 Episodes, was also released on that day.
The Complete Fourteenth Season DVD set was released on November 19, 2024, which contains all 21 episodes from the fourteenth season.

On August 27, 2024, a SpongeBob SquarePants video game featuring Patrick Star as the main character was announced. It is an open-world sandbox-like game where Patrick can freely roam around Bikini Bottom and use various objects and items, along with taking on missions given by characters like SpongeBob. It was released on October 4, 2024.

A song called "SpongeBob's Birthday" by Groove Century is included in Just Dance 2025 Edition which was released on October 15, 2024.[26]
Brawl Stars[]

During Season 30, the Brawl Stars x SpongeBob SquarePants Event was released. The event featured two new trophy events, a club event, new Brawler abilities, a new shop section, as well as a new currency which is called Krusty Kash. There is also a new power-up called Power Meal and new skins called SpongeBob El Primo, Buzz Patrick, Squidward Mortis, Mr. Krabs Tick, Sandy Jessie, and Plankton Darryl.
Roblox[]
Throughout October-December 2024, the Rainbow SpongeBob, Jellyfish Surfing Patrick, and Clarineting Squidward avatar accessories were added to Walmart Roblox gift cards for October, November, and December exclusives respectively.
On December 21, 2024, an officially-licensed game called SpongeBob Tower Defense was released on the same day. It plays like any other tower defense games on Roblox and is developed by Wonder Works Studios.

Between June 21 and July 18, 2024, SpongeBob Simulator hosted a SpongeBob 25th Anniversary event on Roblox which featured exclusive UGC rewards as well as two emotes. This event takes place in SpongeBob Simulator, TMNT Battle Tycoon, Car Dealership Tycoon, Tower of Misery, and Twilight Daycare. Other then UGC, this event also rewards the Band Geek SpongeBob morph, Party SpongeBob morph, Director Mr. Krabs morph, Socksfor3 Bottomnite, Preston Gamez Bottomnite, Ibella Bottomnite, Kat Buno Bottomnite, Mackenzie Bottomnite, and Snail Race Gary Goober buddies. SpongeBob also appeared in the games that the event is in only during the event, similar to the Super Bowl LVIII event. The Krusty Towers zone, which was released during the event, also contains the logo for the celebration.

On December 16, 2024, a SpongeBob SquarePants x Fortnite collaboration was announced and released the same day. It saw the addition of four UEFN games based off the series, such as Red vs Blue, Prop Hunt, Slap Fight, and Only Up. These maps were developed by Alliance Studios and Upside Down Studios, in collaboration with Paramount and Zoned. And took three weeks to be made.[27]

During summer 2024, new episodes of SpongeBob: Reimagined and SpongeBob IRL aired on the SpongeBob YouTube channel. A brand new DoodleBob shorts series, called DoodleBob Recreates Scenes from SpongeBob Episodes!, also debuted on YouTube, which saw DoodleBob using his pencil to redraw SpongeBob scenes starring himself as the main character. This web series also saw the return of Paul Tibbitt as DoodleBob's voice actor.[28]

In occasion of the 25th anniversary, the 37th Annual Kids' Choice Awards was hosted by SpongeBob and Patrick on July 13, 2024, along with the ceremony itself being themed around the series.
Marathons[]
Nicktoons aired a SpongeBob SquarePants Mega Marathon from March 28 to April 8, 2024.
A Week of All Things SpongeBob aired during April 2024 and has returned in February 2025 on Nickelodeon.
From that point forward, Nicktoons started airing nonstop SpongeBob reruns all day and every day, along with Kamp Koral and The Patrick Star Show.
Party Like a Sponge aired on both Nickelodeon and Nicktoons global channels during late June and July 2024, featuring a SpongeBob marathon, the 2024 Kids' Choice Awards and new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants.
Nickelodeon UK and Ireland aired Bikini Bottom Summer during July 2024 that featured episodes of SpongeBob, The Patrick Star Show, and The Loud House.
On July 14, 2024, Nickelodeon celebrated SpongeBob's 25th birthday with a marathon of SpongeBob SquarePants, along with The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout."
