SpongeBob's glasses are a pair of prescription[1][2][3] glasses worn by SpongeBob SquarePants whenever he goes jellyfishing. He also uses them as reading glasses. They first appear in the SpongeBob SquarePants pitch bible.
Description[]

They are large black glasses with transparent light blue lenses. They have hinges on the ends, which are usually white but gold in "Just One Bite." In some stock images, the glasses are light gray instead of black.
Role in series[]

SpongeBob usually wears these glasses whenever he goes jellyfishing at Jellyfish Fields. They have also been used as reading glasses in "Just One Bite" and "Stanley S. SquarePants."
In "Jellyfishing," SpongeBob wears his glasses at Jellyfish Fields until he and Patrick fall down. They can be seen falling off of SpongeBob, and he remains without them for the end of the episode.
In "Your Shoe's Untied," SpongeBob puts them on while he takes notes from the Flying Dutchman on how to tie his shoes.
