The shrimp[1] is a minor character who makes a brief appearance in the episode "The Algae's Always Greener," as well as in the Serpents and Sealords story of SpongeBob Comics No. 51. He is mentioned in Krusty Krab Adventures.


The shrimp is light red with a darker red backside. He wears a light green shirt. He has beady black eyes on stalks, two antennae, and a tail that curls upward.

In Serpents and Sealords, he has a ghost form. His shape and features are identical, but he is entirely white.

"The Algae's Always Greener"

As the shrimp is leaving the Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs throws Plankton out and yells "So long, shrimp!" The shrimp is about to leave the restaurant but then looks back at Mr. Krabs, thinking he meant him.

Krusty Krab Adventures

In "The Algae's Always Greener" segment of the book, Mr. Krabs yells the same thing, but the shrimp is not physically shown.

SpongeBob Comics No. 51

He appears as a ghost in the story Serpents and Sealords. He is one of many characters drawn in SpongeBob's "Creature Compendium" book, along with Plankton, Mr. Krabs, the Cyclops, and the anchovies.
