Shiny Objects[1] are collectible flower-shaped items in the video games Battle for Bikini Bottom and Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated. They serve as currency in the game. Unlike other collectible items in the game, Shiny Objects are dropped by tikis, robots, etc., and therefore are virtually limitless in quantity.
Role[]
In Battle for Bikini Bottom and Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, they are by far the most numerous collectible. The values of each kind of Shiny Object are as follows:
- Red: 1
- Yellow: 2
- Green: 5
- Blue: 10
- Purple: 50
Shiny Objects are spawned from defeated tikis, robots, or found scattered around the level. Those generated are limitless. Those scattered can only be collected once. Regardless, shiny red objects are found almost exclusively in situations where there is little chance of dying; Yellow, Green, and Blue are ambiguous and can be found in either normal or dangerous situations; Purple is found exclusively in dangerous situations. The maximum amount of Shiny Objects the player can hold up to is 99,999 (999,999 in Rehydrated).
Shiny Objects can be traded for golden spatulas via Mr. Krabs, fed to clams to open new areas, or directly to doors/gates for the same purpose.
List of expenditures[]
The player can spend their Shiny Objects on the following:
- SpongeBob's house
- Access to SpongeBob's bedroom: 10
- Access to SpongeBob's attic: 20 (free in Rehydrated[2])
- Access to the dressing room to get the first golden spatula: 50

Trivia[]
- They also inspire the manliness points for The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie game as both are collectibles scattered throughout the game and collected whenever enemies or crates are defeated or destroyed.
- Unlike shiny objects, manliness points are not a currency used to spend; rather, they are used to fill a meter to earn an upgrade point.
- In SpongeBob SquarePants (musical) and "The SpongeBob Musical: Live on Stage!," Squidward collects 19 assorted shiny objects for the Electric Skates.
- In Rehydrated, shiny objects are one shape rather than the unique designs that were used for each color in the original Battle for Bikini Bottom.
