The seventh season of the American animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, created by former marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg, was announced on March 13, 2008.

It premiered on July 19, 2009, with the episode "Tentacle-Vision" and ended on June 11, 2011 with the episode "The Curse of the Hex."

In the late season 7 on the intro, the 2009 Nickelodeon logo appears above the SpongeBob SquarePants logo.

Season 7 was released on DVD on December 6, 2011.
