The seventh season of the American animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, created by former marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg, was announced on March 13, 2008.[1]

It premiered on July 19, 2009, with the episode "Tentacle-Vision" and ended on June 11, 2011 with the episode "The Curse of the Hex."

Season 7 was released on DVD on December 6, 2011.

  • This is the last season to start before Nickelodeon's 2009 rebrand.
    • In addition, this is also the final season to have the Nickelodeon lightbulb logo from 2008 appear at the end of the credits.
  • Late into this season, the 2009 Nickelodeon logo appears above the SpongeBob SquarePants logo in the theme song, and the Nickelodeon Productions logo from 2009 also replaces the Nickelodeon lightbulb logo from 2008.
  • This season, along with season 11, are tied as longest seasons of the show, having 50 segments each.
