The season became available to stream on Paramount+ on July 10, 2024.
Production

For Comic Con 2021, a virtual live read of "Stair Wars" was done by the show's cast, with the rough storyboards being shown alongside.
Production on the series began by January 2020, with Joann Chang working as the series' production assistant until July 2020.[2] Production manager Dominika Smetek would join in February 2020 after working on the other SpongeBob shows.[3] She remained until June 2022,[3] around when the new crew members were hired.
On July 24th, 2020, Ryan Kramer finished his rough storyboards for "Lost in Couch."[4] That August, Kody Orris was hired as the series' recording engineer.[5] Brian Morante storyboarded "Terror at 20,000 Leagues" the same year.[6] Eliza Herndon, whose first episode was as a storyboard revisionist was "Terror at 20,000 Leagues," worked from January 2021 to June 2021.[7]
In August 2020, preliminary character designs were developed by Maddie Carter. Squidina's was on the 20th, and GrandPat's was on the 21st.[8]
Production coordinator Adele Kuforiji worked on the SpongeBob franchise from November 2020 to June 2021. Her credited episodes are from first half of the season, and "SpongeBob's Road to Christmas" on the main series.[9] Additionally, from November 2020 to July 2022, Brad Sutton worked as a background painter.[10]
In January 2022, with the second half of the season, Kenny Pittenger was promoted to be the series' supervising producer.[11] Aaron Painter returned as a full-time character and prop designer in November 2021.[12]
Ian Vazquez supervised three episodes in the second half of the season: "Shrinking Stars," "Uncredible Journey," and "House Hunting." These episodes received storyboard plussing in the fall of 2021,[13] and Andre Nieves did prop design for them from November 2021 to February 2022.[14]
Sometime in 2021, Tobias Krebs storyboarded "Backpay Payback" and "Patrick's Got a Zoo Loose." "The Drooling Fool" was guest directed by Eddie Trigueros.

Storyboard by Trey Chavez from "The Patterfly Effect," the first episode to be done by the show's new staff.
In late 2021 and early-mid 2022, the show began transitioning from being script-driven to storyboard-driven, and new storyboard directors, artists, revisionists, and writers were hired. These include Kristen Caplan becoming a line producer in October 2021,[15] Gabe Del Valle, Mike Pelensky, Andy Gonsalves in December 2021[16][17][18], Zoë Moss in January 2022,[19] Ron Bradley, Arin Scalfo, Austin Faber, Andrew Scherman, Arielle Phillips, and Miggs Perez in March 2022[20][21][22][23][24][25], Amanda Donahue and Sandra D. Rivas in April 2022,[26][27] and Nora Meek in June 2022[28]. Other staff members were promoted or moved onto the Patrick Show: artist Eliza Herndon was reassigned to the show in November 2022[29], franchise production coordinator Joann Chang was promoted to storyboard revisionist in June 2023.[30] The series got a new art director, Marta Knudsen, who was hired in May 2022.[31] In the same month, Tim Prendergast became a storyboard supervisor.[32] Brett Varon was hired as storyboard supervisor in December 2021.[33] "The Patterfly Effect" was the first episode to be released with the new staff members.

Storyboard by Arielle Phillips from "Bubble Bass Reviews," the 2nd-to-last episode of the season.
Allen Zhang, who helped write and direct "Fun & Done!" and "Neptune's Ball," did so from January to April of 2022.[34] Heather Paul helped revise one episode as freelance work in May 2022.[35] Jasmine Daguno Reyes, who helped revise two episodes, worked in May and June of 2022.[36] Storyboards for "Olly Olly Organ Free" were finished by August 2022.[37] "Bubble Bass Reviews" was in production by July 2022.[38]
