Sandals[1] is an olive-green background fish who first appears in the episode "Patty Hype."
Description
He is an olive-green-colored fish with dark yellow-orange lips, light olive-green fins, and has dark olive-green spots on the side of his head. He wears purple shorts with white flowers and light blue sandals, which gave his name. However, in the first movie, he is seen wearing brown shoes and socks. He sometimes bears a striking resemblance to Scooter. In SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D: Ride, he appears in a greener color and wears red shorts.
He usually is a surfer at Goo Lagoon and does not act very intelligent.
He is best known for comedic one-liners. However, unlike several other common background characters, he has never played a major role in an episode.

Sandals is spotted at Make-Out Reef, kissing a pillow.
"Clams"
He asks for coral bits at the Krusty Krab and his order gives Mr. Krabs his one-millionth dollar.
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
He calls SpongeBob a wizard after all the Bikini Bottomites are freed from Plankton's mind-control Chum Bucket Bucket Helmets.
"Stuck in the Wringer"
He tells SpongeBob that it isn't his body, but it is his heart what matters and that he deserves to be stuck in that wringer.
SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D: Ride
Sandals plays a vital role as the customer that SpongeBob must rescue a pickle for in order to complete his order for a Krabby Patty.
Trivia
- Sandals is very picky about what he eats, as seen in the episode "Clams."
- Sandals is allergic to pickles and will swell up and explode if he eats them.[2] Despite that, he doesn't mind raining pickles in The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.
- In the episode "The Smoking Peanut," he has an Australian accent.
- The shorts that Sandals wears are similar to Patrick's shorts since they both have Hawaiian flowers on them. The only difference is size and color. They are the same shorts like the ones that Medley Fishbowl wears.
