Characters

Synopsis

LeapPad Description

"As children enjoy the antics of SpongeBob Squarepants, they'll expand their vocabulary and improve their reading comprehension skills. This interactive book includes 2 stories from down under (the sea that is). Children will learn how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly and appreciate the value of imagination. Works with all LeapPad learning systems, except for My First LeapPad and Little Touch Leappad. Intended for Grades 1-3, ages 6-8."

Tag Description

Intended for Grades 1-3, ages 6-8."

Trivia

  • The "Wormy" adaptation features an extra scene at the end where Sandy reveals the “monster” was Wormy all along, and SpongeBob and Patrick are relieved.
  • The "Wormy" adaptation seen in the Salty Sea Stories removed the scene at the Krusty Krab.
  • Due to the book being educational, "Idiot Box" was changed to "Imagination Day" to make it more kid-friendly, as the word "idiot" is too inappropriate for a LeapPad book and Tag book.
  • The Tag version of the book uses the 2008 SpongeBob logo.
  • Unlike the actual episode, which featured a horsefly close-up, Wormy's close-up is that of an actual butterfly, albeit not a Monarch butterfly.

Errors

  • Mrs. Puff's Boating School is located in a different position.
  • The description misspells SpongeBob's last name by not capitalizing the "p."
    • This is corrected in the Tag version.

A small note: The picture in the book is not the same as the episode, speculation could be the horrifying depiction of Wormy's face while the other could be a not-so-perfect picture of it. In the picture, the face isn't a horsefly but one of a weird white butterfly with spots. Although according to a YouTube video, if you press on the face, it buzzes JUST like Wormy!
