The sailor fish[1] is a tough fish who debuts in “No Weenies Allowed.”


He is a large, muscular, light grayish brown fish with a dark brown shark-like dorsal fin who wears a navy blue speedo and a gray sailor's hat. He has yellow eyes, a scar above his left eye, and stubble on his chin. He has very short legs in contrast to the rest of his body.

"Pirate" Incidental

He wears a raggedy pale yellow tank top, blue pants, brown pointed toe shoes, and a black pirate hat with a red outline.

Role in series

”You have to have muscles on your eyeballs.”

The sailor fish has made quite a large number of appearances throughout the series. He is usually portrayed as a tough and muscular fish that is usually seen among other tough and muscular fish. He can commonly be seen at establishments for tough patrons such as The Salty Spitoon and other bars. In “Grandpappy the Pirate,” a “Pirate” incidental of him was created.

Major roles

"No Weenies Allowed"

He is seen standing in front of The Salty Spitoon, waiting in line. He reveals to Reg that he ate a bowl of nails for breakfast earlier in the morning without any milk, which proves him tough enough to enter the bar.

"Plankton's Army"

Plankton asks him and a group of other fish to be his henchmen to steal the Krabby Patty secret formula. He and the other group of fish end up stepping on Plankton, causing him to return to the Chum Bucket in a wheelchair with a cast and bandages.


He appears as a gladiator with the Finback tough where they tie the string of sausages around Patrick's neck.

A Life in a Day

He is one of the biker who chase Patrick after he accidentally knocks their bikes over but when SpongeBob convince the biker to forgive Patrick, the sailor fish gives Patrick a friendly handshake of forgiveness before SpongeBob accidentally knocks over their bikes again.

Krusty Krushers

He is one of the many tough fish who attempt to beat Jim and the Purple wrestler at a wrestling match, but he fails.

“Grandpappy the Pirate”

He appears as part of Mr. Krabs' old pirate crew that ends up getting fired by him shortly.

"The Cent of Money"

Mr. Krabs and Gary steal his change. When SpongeBob comes looking for them, the Popeye fish tells SpongeBob that they had stolen his change and refers to them as "criminals."

Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom

He is part of the stage crew of Kelpy G's concert where he and the Construction worker try to catch Patrick onstage.

Demolition Doofus

He appears as a demolition driver in Mrs. Puff's imagination wher he and the other drivers kill SpongeBob by crashing into him.

Squid Plus One

He is seen weightlifting with other muscular fish at Goo Lagoon.

No Pictures Please

He accidentally steps on Plankton at the Krusty Krab.

The Krusty Slammer

He is seen as a prisoner at the Krusty Krab in a hot tub where Mr. Krabs removes the heating pipe from his hot tub.


He is one of the many muscular fish who challenges Mr. Krabs in an arm-wrestling match, but loses to him.
