Rodney Bingenheimer is an American disc jockey for KROQ radio. He portrayed the DJ in "Krab Borg."

Biography[]

He was born on December 15, 1947 in Mountain View, California, to a star-struck mother who, when Bingenheimer was just three years old, was divorced from his father. Although he was content to watch celebrity golf tournaments, his father had always desired to be a star. His mother was said to as a "relentless autograph hound" and a "difficult woman". According to one source, he had a lonely upbringing since he frequently spent his nights by himself while his mother worked as a waitress. Another account said that the newly popular rock music of the time served as both his "home" and a coping mechanism for his parents' divorce. He was "obsessed" with celebs and consumed countless fan mags. At the age of sixteen, Bingenheimer's mother took him to Connie Stevens' home in southern California and gave him instructions to obtain the star's autograph. Then she departed suddenly. This was approximately 1963, when he moved out on his own in Los Angeles and began a six-year separation from his mother. He has hosted many times on the radio station KROQ between the years 1976 and 2017.
