Rock Stars! Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants turns up the volume and joins Plankton's rock band in this fun glow-in-the-dark storybook that includes more than 30 glow stickers. Full color. Consumable. Full description
One dark and stormy night, the guards at the Bikini Bottom Jail made a terrible discovery that their most dangerous prisoner had escaped! Sirens screeched and searchlights scanned the night. The escapee was nowhere to be seen. Outside, wearing a wig as a disguise, Plankton crept through the shadows. Plankton ran back to the Chum Bucket, but his computer wife, Karen, would not let him in. Karen did not want Plankton in because he was a jailbird and she threw a box of Plankton's belongings out of the restaurant. Plankton looked at his box of belongings and saw his old guitar that he has not played in years. Just then, SpongeBob walked by singing a happy song about Krabby Patties. That gave Plankton an idea. Maybe he could get SpongeBob to sing the secret list of Krabby Patty ingredients. Plankton got SpongeBob's attention and SpongeBob questioned if he could join a rock band. The answer was yes!
SpongeBob asked his friends to be in the band, too. Patrick said yes because he plays a pretty mean stomach. Squidward was not so sure. He was a musical genius and cannot lower himself to playing rock music in giant arenas filled with screaming fans who love him. Squidward then decided to join the band. The band went to work right away. SpongeBob found some wild rock-and-roll clothes, and Patrick got busy growing really cool hair. When they were ready to start rehearsals, SpongeBob called Squidward on the phone. Squidward told him he cannot come yet because he has to get in shape before his fans can see him. The next day, Plankton walked into band practice with a big box. Plankton had shorts made and named the band. SpongeBob held up a shirt that said "Plankton and the Patty Stealers" which SpongeBob thought was mysterious, but he still loved it. Plankton rolled a big machine with flashing lights into the room. This machine was Plankton's recording device that will help capture all SpongeBob's wonderful songs, including the song about Krabby Patties. Little did anyone suspect, the machine actually read minds! Plankton hooked SpongeBob up to it and let him sing But he did not hear any secret recipes, just songs about brushing teeth and feeding Gary. When Patrick tried the machine, it sputtered, sparked, and exploded! Plankton busted into tears thinking he is a failure. SpongeBob told Plankton that they still had a week before their gig at the Krusty Krab. But Mr. Krabs does not want us bugging the customers, so we have to play when it is closed and no one is around. Plankton could not believe his luck. A week later, the band arrived at the Krusty Krab. SpongeBob's clothes were rocking, Patrick's hair looked awesome, and Squidward's muscles were huge. The band plugged in their equipment, switched on the amplifiers and noticed that Plankton was missing. SpongeBob spotted Plankton sneaking toward the door with the Krabby Patty formula! SpongeBob came up to Plankton and ask Plankton if the band was just an excuse for him to get the Krabby Patty recipe. Plankton said he was just in it for the music, man. The police arrived and arrested Plankton. They put tiny handcuffs on his wrists and took him back to prison. Plankton had to stay in jail for twenty-two years now. Outside of Plankton's jail cell, the band now only had 22 years to practice before their next gig.
