However, before he can get to Bikini Bottom Court, he slips on water near SpongeBob and is greatly injured, telling SpongeBob he cannot make it to court. He then gives SpongeBob a briefcase, telling him that everything that he needs to win his case is in there except for a suit. SpongeBob then takes the briefcase and leaves to represent Mr. Krabs in Richard's absence.

He spends a very long time trying to open the briefcase until it finally opens towards the end of the trial, revealing only Richard's lunch - a Krabby Patty. SpongeBob then uses the Krabby Patty to get Plankton to admit he lied by teasing it to him, allowing Mr. Krabs to win the trial.
