Characters[]

Synopsis[]

Prickly Pests 054

The urchins throwing a party.

While walking through the forest, SpongeBob and Patrick become victims of a prank by Narlene and Nobby. Nobby distracts the two while Narlene puts a sea urchin in SpongeBob's pants. SpongeBob notices it when he returns to the cabin. He and Patrick decide to keep the urchin as a pet, naming him Urnie. That night, Urnie summons his urchin friends over to the cabin. SpongeBob and Patrick awake to find urchins infesting their cabin. When Mr. Krabs visits, the urchins all hide. After he turns his back, they sneak out into the camp and invade the other cabins. Nobby and Narlene observe that their prank is succeeding.

SpongeBob and Patrick escape to Sandy's dome. Sandy suggests that they use a potion to make urchins want to return home. However, her test subject urchin ends up growing giant, destroying Sandy's dome and sending her, SpongeBob, and Patrick flying back into camp. The urchins continue to terrorize the campers, when Narlene decides to call the prank off. She plays a whistle to guide the swarm home. However, the giant urchin jumps on them and crushes them, forcing the whistle down Narlene's throat. At this point, Sandy leaves SpongeBob and Patrick on their own, and they are overwhelmed by the swarm of urchins.

"Urnie! He's taken over camp!"

Narlene climbs up Perch Perkins' watchtower and makes the urchin call noise. However, the giant urchin jumps on the tower and crushes her again. The urchins become unstoppable, redecorating the sign to say Kamp Urchin. SpongeBob and the campers build a new camp away from the urchins, with the help of Narlene's family. Back in the old Kamp Koral, Urnie wakes up and goes through SpongeBob's routine in the Kamp Koral Theme Song.

Urnie with urchin versions of Sandy, Patrick, Pearl, and Mr. Krabs

  • The Kamp Koral Theme Song is referenced when Urnie gets his own version of the theme song at the end of the episode. In the new theme song, urchin versions of the main characters appear. They are:
    • An urchin version of Patrick with a pointed head and a big single tooth
    • An urchin version of Sandy with glasses and braces
    • An urchin version of Mr. Krabs with two eyestalks
    • An urchin version of Pearl with her pink bow, diaper, and bottle (held by the Mr. Krabs urchin)
    • An urchin version of Squidward with his nose and clarinet
  • This episode was originally scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 on Nickelodeon in the United States at 5:00 PM, before being replaced with a rerun of the SpongeBob SquarePants episodes "Mimic Madness" and "House Worming."[5]
    • Coincidentally, it premiered exactly one month later on July 13.
  • On Nickelodeon, this episode premiered on Tom Kenny's 61st birthday.
  • This episode was paired up with a rerun of "Camp Spirit" during the Nickelodeon premiere.[6]
  • This is currently the lowest-rated Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years episode, with only 118,000 viewers.

Episode references[]

  • This episode is somewhat similar to "House Worming," featuring unwanted vermin characters invading an area that SpongeBob takes shelter in. The urchins also throw a party, ruin lives, frighten everyone, and eventually become antagonistic, similar to the season 10 outing.
  • Sandy mentions her "Sunday homesick tears," reminiscent of how she was homesick in "Texas" and "Chimps Ahoy."

Errors[]

  • When SpongeBob tells Urnie goodnight, Patrick's mouth moves as well as if he is saying the same thing, despite him not actually saying anything.
