Synopsis

The episode begins with Squidward going to his RV so he can go to Porpoise Peak to see a warbling water lily. SpongeBob and Patrick see him and want to come with him on his trip. However, Patrick grabs the ramp from the RV, causing it to roll down the road and get crushed by a very giant anchor.

Squidward gets very sad because he can't see the water lily and goes home. SpongeBob and Patrick feel bad for him, so they turn SpongeBob's house into an RV. Squidward has a dream about seeing two water lilies and once it opens, SpongeBob and Patrick are them. Squidward wakes up to realize he is inside SpongeBob's RV and that they are on the road.

They eventually reach Porpoise Peak and Squidward comes out to see the warmly water lily. As a big crowd of people also come to see the water lily, Patrick digs the plant out and gives it to Squidward, also called it the 'Babbling Buttercup'. The flower rots because of this, and the crowd beats Squidward up as they thought he caused it to rot.

Squidward gets the idea to take the RV and leave SpongeBob and Patrick at Porpoise Peak. However, he gets worried about them as he's driving and goes back to see if they're alright. Squidward hears screams from a cave, and attacks the sea bear as he thinks it's hurting SpongeBob and Patrick.

It turns out the sea bears were friendly to the two, and they hurt Squidward immensely. The three head back home, and SpongeBob giving Squidward the water lily that, explained by SpongeBob, it needs love. Overjoyed, Squidward plays the clarinet along with the plant, making SpongeBob and Patrick run away in panic while Patrick engages Auto-Snail, and the episode ends.

Trivia

General

• The episode will be paired up with "Boss for a Day," in the original American airing.
• This became the most leaked episode in the series.
• According to Vincent Waller on Twitter, this was the final episode fully finished before Stephen Hillenburg's death.

• The license plate on SpongeBob's RV says, "IM-RDY," just like it does in "No Free Rides" and "Sharks vs. Pods."
• Whenever Squidward slams down his suitcase on SpongeBob, SpongeBob appears to have Squidward's spare shirt on, which is a reference to SpongeBob wearing Squidward's shirt at the ending of "The Paper."
• A clip of this episode was shown during Nick's "So Much Summertime" song in 2019, but it hadn't aired at the time.

• A clip was shown in a YTV promo during the spring of 2019.
• This will be the fourth episode to premiere at least a year after its sister episode. The first was "Gary Takes a Bath," the second was "Goo Goo Gas," and third was "Yeti Krabs."
• The episode's premise was going to be planned as a season 1 episode when SpongeBob and Squidward are going to a road trip, but it was later scrapped and turned it to "Pizza Delivery." This took 19 years to return its development.
• SpongeBob's house was previously a mobile in "Chatterbox Gary."
• Despite SpongeBob saying that Mr. Krabs haven't gave them vacations (safe for Squidward, whose place is taken by Old Man Walker), SpongeBob is not at work.

• The RV that SpongeBob and Patrick turns SpongeBob’s house into, which refers to in "Coyote Sunrise," where the bus was turned into an RV.

Errors

SpongeBob's missing eyelashes.

• When SpongeBob and Patrick are gently gliding down SpongeBob's eyelash is missing.

Patrick's missing mouth

• During the scene at the beginning where Patrick falls down from Squidward's RV, his mouth disappears for a frame.
• When Squidward says "We gotta get off this road!," his mouth is off sync.
