Synopsis[]
Squidina explains the episode's gimmick: the audience votes on what Patrick should do next when they are presented with two choices. The first choice is whether Patrick eats broccoli or cookies. Slappy asks how he can vote to have a sleepover with Patrick, but Squidina reminds him he can only vote for the options on screen. The cookies choice wins, to Patrick's delight. The next choice is whether he sings a song or walks on a bed of hot coals. The audience votes for the hot coals, and Patrick's body ends up severely burnt once he walks on them.
When Patrick says he thinks he needs to go to the hospital, Squidina starts another vote: should Patrick go to the hospital or wrestle a sea bear? The audience votes for him to go to the hospital, but his doctor turns out to be a sea bear, who prescribes him some ointment and then a vicious mauling. Patrick heals up and then escapes, and is presented with the choice of whether he takes the stairs or the elevator. This is stalled by a late mail-in vote, but they vote for the elevator. Although he wants to be sent home or end the episode, Squidina and the audience tell him that is not how voting works.
Patrick ends up being thrown into an empty elevator shaft, and the next vote is what he lands on: metal spikes or lollipops. The lollipops choice wins like Patrick wants, but he ends up being impaled on their sticks. He exits the elevator in an underground cave, where he is confronted by monsters and another choice comes up: should he fight them or give them the lollipops they want? Patrick wants to keep them for himself, but the audience votes for him to share them. The monsters declare Patrick their leader and head to the surface to "turn the city upside-down", and a choice is presented on how they do that: by either destroying everything or having Patrick run for mayor. The audience votes for the latter.
Patrick's mayoral campaign, mostly consisting of kissing babies, is a massive success and he gets elected. While he wants to be done with the voting, Squidina calls him and tells him to check his desk drawer. There, he finds a time bomb, and starts a vote for which wire he should cut to disarm it. The results end up being for him to have a sleepover with Slappy, and the bomb explodes, sending him to Slappy's house in the cemetery. Slappy says, "Don't you just love democracy!", and shuts the entrance to his house.
