Character

The phone[1] is a sentient phone which was killed by Patrick in The Patrick Star Show episode "The Haunting of Star House." However, it has made non-sentient appearances, such as the episode "Pat-a-thon" along with three other identical looking phones. The phone made its debut in "Porous Pockets."

Description[]

When the phone is alive, it looks like a normal gray phone with a mouth that is able to form on the receiving end. However, when it gets killed and becomes a ghost, it has a bluish white color and a small ghost tail.

Role in series[]

SpongeBob SquarePants[]

"Porous Pockets"[]

The Appraiser and Pawn Shop owner can be seen talking to someone on the phone before noticing the Pearl that SpongeBob and Patrick found.

"Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom"[]

SpongeBob and Squidward use two identical looking phones in order to go to Kelpy G's concert. Although Squidward fails to get into the concert, SpongeBob is fortunately however to be able to get two tickets for him and Squidward.

"Jolly Lodgers"[]

The phone is first seen when SpongeBob and Patrick use it to call Squidward to be his room service (unknown to him). It later reappears when Squidward calls the HAZMAT Unit to exterminate the jellyfish geeks. It also reappears at the end when Squidward is dancing by himself with a gas mask.

The Patrick Star Show[]

"Pat-a-thon"[]

The phone appears as one of the four phones in the phone bank for the Pat-a-thon. It is used by a sentient can of beans. Its recorded message is the exact same as it is in its later sentient appearance.

"The Haunting of Star House"[]

During a commercial about the Flying Dutchman giving out ghosts to hire, he suggests viewers (mainly Patrick) to strangle their phone to give them a call. Patrick then quickly rushes towards his phone to hire some ghosts, with the phone then saying a recorded message when he arrives. The phone then becomes sentient as Patrick interrupts its message by strangling the phone to death and dropping its lifeless body on the ground. Patrick then grabs the ghost of the now deceased phone and uses it to call the ghosts for them to haunt his house. The ghost of the phone then floats away from Patrick's grip.
